Black Wreckage is officially my favourite landmark in Xenoblade Chronicles >:)
I'm surprised I didn't notice it when I first played the game...

Do you have terminal?
Nothing with terminal is ever FUBAR
I have nothing. It's something to do with the graphics card... The computer turns on and will boot into the OS (It's default is Linux) but the screen continues to say no signal, and as it boots into the OS, there's no beep code to decipher :(

You either need to go to BIOS and switch the card to integrated

Either that or the GPU is rewriting the intergrated output to the card itself.
In other words, remove the GPU OR plug the cable into a different socket. (e.g one on the card, one on the mobo)

Same reason why games exist where you can be the villain or the crook instead of the good guy, i guess.

Re: Rain Dance Messages 11: Swift Swim and Thunder Away

Words cannot express my rage.

So, my friend gave me his old Pokemon Crystal and long story short, I found out the internal battery has run dry. Today, I went to walgreens and bought myself the battery required, I get home and find tools to use. I melt a pen to make it fit that little screw and open it up. Now, to remove the battery, you have to take these metal tabs and unweld them, or get a tiny screwdriver and lift the metal off the little welded nubs. Now Crystal, has the nubs VERY close together compared to other games, so I spend an hour trying to get the top one off. And what happened right as I take the top one off? The tab snaps out of the board. After an hour of prying IT SNAPS OFF. Now the bottom one was slightly easier, but here, half of the tab came off. At least it was still attached to the board. So I try using electrical tape to attach the top tab on, and I did. So I use a lot of tape to make sure everything is touching at the right place. I turn the game on, I save and turn it off. When I turn it on and click the save, it says SAVE FILE CORRUPTED. I take the tape off and try again two more times, now they both save, but the game is a new game or the time keeps resetting. Now I get a lot of tape, wrap it around EVERYWHERE, keeping the everything pressed down as hard as possible, put the cart back together and wait a little to keep myself from frustration. I check the time, 3 hours since I started. I try saving one last time.

I forgot to say how I accidentally stabbed myself multiple times with the screwdriver, to the point where my own blood fell into the motherboard. Some creepypasta stuff right there.

Out of curiousity, why bother with the battery, Chillin? I mean, GBC/GBA games can still be played without the battery, its just that time based events no longer occur.

Well, it can't save without the battery. I couldn't care less about the time.

No, the older cartridges had volatile memory storage. Like RAM, it needed to be powered constantly.
On GBA carts, they had non-volatile EEPROM, however, the clock was in the cartridge.
Finally, on the DS, the clock was moved to the system.

So my post does make sense for the GBA part, but ignore the GBC part. xD

I'm not sure what I'd slap guy number two for more. Not being an Ubuntu user, or not being into pokemon xD
