That's weird, I've been having that exact same problem. I tried a brand new game and got that error.
Sadly, I'm not good with problems...just taking apart/putting things back together. Pointless, but may come in handy someday.

I understand. From what I've read, if the Wii starts having a 'Disk Read Error' for every game, it's a sign that the disk drive itself is starting to weaken and die. If that's the case, it needs to be replaced.
I've read do-it-yourself articles, though I'm not exactly that handy with a solder kit, though if I did crack open the Wii and replaced the disk drive myself it'd be no more than $30, but Nintendo would never take a look at it again.
