Psychic and Dark are not exactly great strengths to have. If it had something like a strength against Dragon, Fighting, Rock, Ground, or Water, I'd understand, but it doesn't.

Interestingly, Grass has three of those strengths and is arguably worse than Bug, although that is more of a problem of terrible movesets.
Being strong against [email protected], Espeon, Slowbro, Starmie, Alakazam, Celebi, Tyranitar, Hoopa, Weavile, and Mega Gyarados is pretty nice. I'm not saying it's one of the best offensive types, but I wouldn't say it's among the worst.

I think Grass is a much worse type right now because it's weak to Ice in addition to Fire and Flying and doesn't have many common types that are weak to it that aren't easily covered by other types. They cover things like Swampert and Gastrodon pretty well, but I've found Bug types are just generally more efficient as sweepers.

grass is better defensively imo cause it can make better use of its resists

many ground and fighting types commonly carry stone edge for flying-types and whatnot, leaving grass as the only thing it can properly tank
whereas grass types are only scared of ice beam from water types...and like hp ice and fire I guess both those aren't difficult to tank
I mean bug's resists can be pretty useful when combined with other types but

also bugs are weak to rock which is particularly annoying for any mon

Pretty much the only type that's usefulness isn't killed (or at least seriously hindered) by a rock weakness is Fire.

Just caught myself a shiny Rotom in Platinum. Didn't take as many resets as I had thought it would, either!

I shall name it Analytic, after Analytic Magnezone AKA Shiny Metagross AKA @Crystal Onix, my friend and fellow engineer.

lol look at all you chumps talking about the metagame :p

It's really sad that Grass is one of the worst types from a competitive aspect. I really like a lot of Grass-type Pokemon, especially their designs. There are also a lot of Grass-type Pokemon I don't like the design of...Whimscott line, I'm looking at you

Why are we talking about the metagame here? We should talk about the metagame in a section that counts toward your postcount.

It's not irrelevant. Postcount can govern one's rank and role in the universe. It's serious business!

Anyone who thinks that postcount is irrelevant is irrelevant themselves. It's in the theory of relativity!

with my like count neutered, post count is the only statistic I have left

aren't you the same person who constantly requests f&g posts to count towards postcount
Yes, but that was only to boost my count to 1,000 so that I could get the trophy. There's a method to my madness...sometimes.

Ah yes madness weren't you my neighbor for a bit?

I was the one inhabiting a certain part of your mind. I moved out to a place filled with depravity and chaos; the Internet.

What will you gain if I answer that question?
What if I'm not that guy?
What if I am?
What if the world's oceans were made out of lemonade?

Awesome! So it turns out I did pretty well in third year level Classical Mechanics class and that I just didn't pass the class.
