Movies/TV Rate the Last Movie you Watched

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

9/10

Its combat video game style worked well to add action, comedy and awesome visuals to a love story. I particularly liked the fight with the Twins.

The Watch

7/10

I enjoyed it a lot more the second time watching it at home rather than the cinema. It had some funny moments but it got really boring towards the end.

The Incredibles

10/10

I noticed this was on TV last night so I had to watch it. This movie is a childhood favourite of mine because of the story, the animation, the characters, pretty much everything so it gets a 10 from me.

The last movie I watched was Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3.

And I give it a 6/10. I would say compared to the 2nd it has a better plot....but I never watched the 2nd. xD So what I do like about it is the whole Quinceanera concept it has. Cause I had one myself when I was 15. But what I didn't like was how some actors from the first movie were replaced and how the whole Beverly hills Chihuahua's sequels were rushed really. So the 3rd isn't as epic as the first.

Wreck-It Ralph
10/10

This was the last movie I watched, over the weekends. I had my doubts, at first. People kept raving about it, though, so I decided to see it. What I got was a sweet, funny Disney film.
The four main emotions you will most likely feel when watching are nerdgasm (OMG! SONIC!), depression, happiness and diabeetus (also known as "D'AAAAAAAAW").

Personally, this is one of my favorite Disney movies now! Though, as I said in a recent blog post, it really is depressing.

Skyfall ~ 9/10

The only thing preventing it from a 10/10 is that I felt that it didn't have nearly all the plot twists of Casino Royale but it was a very good action film with some emotional moments so if your a fan of the Bond series or a newcomer, I would recommend it to anybody.

The music soundtrack and beginning intro was beautifully orchestrated though.

Up

10/10

I watched Up for the first time on TV and fell in love with it immediately. Any Pixar movie gets a 10 from me, they are incredible.

Stephen King's It

8/10. I liked it but it was a little long, and the ending was weird. It was funny though.

27/11/12

Shutter Island

7/10. Some parts were really predictable, but still enjoyed it. Cool ending.

Disney's Brave 7.5/10 (good)

Wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but it was sweet.
Though the whole
turning into the bear thing was already done (Disney's Brother Bear) and Disney did excellent on that movie.

Breaking Dawn: Part 2--10/10

For the record, I never actually had any plans to review this film. But after what happened when I saw it last night, I just can't not. I-I just ... I can't even.

And yes, this score is entirely deserved. And I say that as a fan hater. Major spoilers below.

OK, so, for the first 3/4 the film sticks pretty close to the book, not much I can say about it from there. BUT THEN.

The fight scene.

Oh my fucking god, the fight scene.

For those who haven't read Breaking Dawn, the gist of it is that some bitter vampire reports the Cullens to the Volturi (Twilight vampire government) because Edward and Bella made a vampire baby, and that's frowned upon. It all comes to a head with a face-off between the Cullens & their friends against the Volturi, and it looks like there's going to be an epic battle, before they all just talk it out, and go home to sparkle another day. Lame anticlimax is lame, etcetera etcetera.

This is what everyone was expecting when they went to see the film.

That did not happen. What transpired instead was possibly one of the most glorious moments of cinema history:

The stage is set. The Volturi are gathered on one side, the Cullens & Co. on the other. Everything is going according the plan. The Volturi are about to destroy the Cullens, but then Alice Cullen (who ran away mysteriously earlier in the film) comes back just in the nick of time with just the plot device to prove that her and her family are innocent. And then ... it fails. The film!Volturi instead decide that unlike their literary counterparts, they aren't having any of it, and heads start flying.

Carlisle is burnt alive, Jasper's head comes off, and then a whole bunch of werewolves (incl. Seth and Leah, I think) get offed. Hell, at one point I thought Bella's head was gonna come off, or even Renesmee's. And it scared me. None of us could believe it, everyone was going crazy. Women were sobbing, boyfriends were cheering, it was beautiful.

But then the Big Bad's started getting offed, and it became a whole new level of awesome. The haters in the audience like myself had seen these holier-than-thou Sparklepire snowflakes get smited for once, and smited so hard that we started cheering for them, or at least enjoying their victories. My personal favourite bit (God, I never thought I'd say that about a Twilight film) was where Alice, the one likeable character of the entire series prior, ripped Dakota Fanning's head clean off. One of the good vampires even ripped a bad guy's head off by the roof of his mouth. It was amazing. I even enjoyed the bit where Bella & Edward teamed up to kill Aro. Dear lord, I was rooting for Bella.

Sadly, however, the crew could only deviate so much away from the source material, as they had apparently been given strict instructions to stick to the source. So it soon turned out it was all an elaborate hoax. Yes, none of it happened, it was just a vision Alice had had of the future (since that's her vampire superpower) that she had showed the bad guys when she had arrived with her plot device earlier, to show them what would happen if they didn't back off.

This was even even better, actually, purely for the audience reaction: the boyfriends were sort of pissed (I remember vividly one of them shouting "this blows!"), but the women? They were at a loss for words. Some of them seemed relieved, but others were ... sad? I think ultimately the fight scene was a wake-up call for some of them. They saw how epic the Twilight SERIES (it's not a saga) could have been, and were then subjected to the harsh reality of the bullshit they'd been buying into. It was a very soulful moment, in retrospect. At least, for some of them, anyway.

Of course, other things did happen in this film, but everything that happened beforehand simply pales in comparison to those ten minutes of concentrated win. That scene just made the film. If everything had gone according to plan, BD: Pt. 2 would just have been remembered as the particularly rancid end to an abysmal series (well, the film series, anyway). So kudos to you, cast and crew of BD: Pt. 2, for having the balls to challenge your audience. I salute you.

Brave. 10/10.
brave-princess-merida.jpg

The best movie of this year, 2012, for me. I've just downloaded Sherlock Holmes 2, so you may think, my decision can change! :p

Kill Bill Volume 2

6/10

This film is a marked improvement over the first, though that isn't saying much. It lacks the rampant egotism and pretentiousness of the first, toning down the violence and instead focusing more on the story. Tarantino ratchets up the emotion and tones down the gratuitous sword fighting, and the result is a more satisfying film with a superb ending. That being said, it still isn't very good. Carradine is excellent, and Thurman is gorgeous, but at the end of the day, it's still a mediocre film.

Windigo
6/10
It wasn't great, but it scared the crap out of ReshiramDragonofTruth and in the end that's all that really matters:sweatlol:.

Wreck-It Ralph
9/10

I should have posted this a while back, but never had the time.

But anyways, the last time I watched a movie was the opening day for Wreck-It Ralph. And let me tell you, I really enjoyed this movie. Its quite funny too and of course It does get some very emotional parts, but overall, the movie was nicely done. If you enjoy video games like I do, you would probably recognize all the characters that were shown in the movie and probably like this movie.
