That's... quite an interesting mix of instruments there (electric guitar with trumpets!?), but I have to say that the song's energy really is quite infectious when it comes down to it! 7.5/10.

Slowing things down a little bit:

Or an instrumental, if you prefer:

I haven't heard this version of the theme yet! Very nice. 9/10.

Today, I'm gonna hit up the arcade days - back to the early times of things like SEGA Model 2, the YM2151, and QSound. Specifically, today I'm bringing up a song from another SEGA arcade hit lost to the ages up until recently - Cyber Troopers Virtual-On. With mechanical design by Hajime Katoki (who may be known by some as being a prominent mechanical designer for the Gundam metaseries, making things like Temjin's appearance more than just a coincidence when compared to the GP01), Virtual-On is a series known for its fast-paced mecha battle action, and a unique control scheme which required the use of a twin joystick with buttons on the top. Certain home instalments in the series would be accompanied by specialised controllers to really make it feel like the arcade, too! The series also has a fantastic music selection, and I'll start with one of its most iconic themes, In The Blue Sky - the theme song used by the MBV-04-G Temjin.

A little startling for a moment with the weird digitised speech, but the music really comes back from that minor snag. Nice and boppin'

Oh no, cake, you made me sad.
Unfortunately, as emotional as it's making me, actually hearing it without fighting noises make me realise that I'm not totally a fan of the music itself. Something about it feels almost overpowering. I guess that works with the context it's in, bit on its own I'm not that into it.

Thus proving that Sonic games usually have good music regardless of the quality of the actual game. I mean it's not really my kind of music, but it's still pretty good, 5/10.

Note: Yes, this music is in the game, it's just really hard to find a full version of this song on the Youtubes. Probably because the title of the track is Codename: T.H.E.M.E. - which doesn't exactly mesh well with Youtube searches, as you can probably imagine.

    Also, ALL THE CHEESE!!

Yep, you know that a song is cheesy when there's a sing-along involved! To say nothing of the non-singing parts, the obvious rhymes, or the hilariously heavy-handed nationalism... you've gotta love songs like this every once in a while. 7/10.

8.5/10. This is from a JRPG I really need to play! A sad fate for the developer who created it, but the dying breath of Imageepoch went all-out for their swan song. Question is, is it more of a Kanade, or a Tsubasa?

There's a lot of style mixes going on here with this next post. The modern interpretation of a Rage Racer song, with J99's signature piano and keyboard compositions reminiscent of R4, some of Rave Racer's influence visible in the drum samples... and opening with that classic 90's club bass I love so much and miss dearly. Next on the playlist... SILVER STREAM [J99 Remix]!

SILVER STREAM [J99 Remix] / J99 Original Composer: Hiroshi Okubo
RAGE RACER REMIX -THE 20TH ANNIV. SOUNDS-

Trust me when I say this is probably as vanilla as it gets - A large majority of the Reactive Remixes disc (Disc 1 on the album) is home to a lot of very unique interpretations of Rage Racer songs which take a good few plays in order for one to realise where the melodies of the original song went! Perhaps I'll show off VOLCANO VEHICLE next time to illustrate my point...
