Thats what Thunder or Thunderbolt is for... he's faster and he negates Kyogre's drizzle... still V-Create Rayquaza will be a monster

There is something terribly wrong with the fact that Pikachu and Reshiram are so high up on the list when they were both distributed in Japan just six months ago. You can tell that most of the voters were kids who probably couldn't care less about special moves or abilities.

Then again, the point of the poll is for their favourite version mascot, no? Sometimes, there are just things that do seem to ignore every other thing... and be governed simply by popularity.

oh please, v-create rayquaza isn't going to be anything spectacular. funny how some of you don't battle competitively and make statements regarding it.

Most of you guys are mentioning how kyogre does this, does that, but are forgetting that the best counter to rayquaza isn't kyogre but it is infact groudon. Groudon has a massive defense and can easily ko rayquaza with stone edge. Rayquaza can't ohko groudon with outrage, then you may as well forget v-create doing that. Not only that there is a major drawback of v-create, the drop of speed. DD sets won't even touch it, sd sets will hate the sp-defensive drops(it has e-speed, though). I can only see it viable on a cb set. but here again rayaquaza has a sr weakness, which means that he has to repeatedly take damage form it due to v-creates side effects.

It isn't as incredible as you guys make it sound.

I want that V-Create Rayquaza.

My only shock here is that Reshiram placed higher than Zekrom--I thought Zekrom was more popular worldwide, not just in America. Interesting.
I imagine that's because more people purchased White, so they had already got a Zekrom.

V-create in theory is neat, especially with the niche of being able to use it without the effects of rain hindering it's power. However the side effect really hurts Rayquaza in the long run, forcing it to ether resort to ExtremeSpeed or switching out and risking Stealth Rock damage.

I am surprised nobody mentioned a Hoenn pokemon got the top spot. Considering how old the third gen is now, its quite impressive.

Nah, it's more impressive how a 3rd Generation Pokemon got so high up considering the 3rd generation is arguably the least popular generation. Age has nothing to do it, considering Charizard and Pikachu are so high up.

Well, fans don't think that way. Rayquaza defeats Venusaur and co. in a popularity contest by sheer badassness. Not very surprising tbh.

Wrong at least according to this site Gen III is actually the most Popuar Has Gen III has almost always been top of the polls or very close Gen IV is technically the least popular thogh Gen II is my least favorite way overrated

Gen III is only the most popular because most of the fans here had R/S/E as their first games.

Actually I think it's an even split between people who started in Gen I(I am one of them started with Yellow) and Gen III I don't think II or IV had as many converts as those two... But Sinnoh does seem to be the least popular region (though I really like it just after Unova and Hoenn)

Odd split actually, but the ones who started out with the recent BW games are a rare case.

Well most of the people who started with B/W are probbly to young to be on Bulbagarden... people who started with Gen I is getting smaller... But Gen I and III dominate the others in terms of fans brought in Gen V is the same seeing how many it sold already but I say most of the new fans are around 6-10 years old...

Lord Rayquaza needs to learn his own special attack. Why is he copying Victini?

You know what, it doesn't matter. This is pure awesomeness for the Japanese gamers. Now we wait four months for it to come here.

It won't necessarily be distributed outside Japan. Since this is not a Wi-Fi event it is hardly guaranteed to be carried over to other countries, but if it is, there will probably be another poll whose outcome may be different.

What about those who started in Gen I or Gen II and still like later Gens better? They exist you know.

Anyway nice to hear about Rayquaza winning.

I think that they gave Rayquaza V-Create because of his name having the word "quasar" in it. A Quasar -> Quasar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't think that the other mascots would have gotten it had they won, so a special move for each winner (should they win) was probably their intention. As for competitive battling I expect CB Rayquaza to be dominant and trick room strategy to be used more.

In any case, Overheat should be obsolete on every set, even the DD set. Even though it has its drawbacks as a move, that only means that it simply has to be used wisely, like Outrage which also has drawbacks.

Oh dear... isn't Rayquaza bad enough now? but noooo let's just give him a fuckin 180 base power attack to offset his 150 basr attack... he'll give Kyogre arun for his money for best competive Pokemon

Keep in mind that Kyogre is 2x resistant to fire moves, so not even a V-Create from Rayquaza would kill it shortly.
A V create would do 48-54 % to a Kyogre from what I read on Smogon. SO if someone predicts a V create and switches to Kyogre it would still do a massive chunk.
