Lately, it seems like every time I log onto Bulbapedia, the last 10+ users in the User Creation Log have blank talk pages. This won't do. I then have to spend ten or fifteen minutes on my laggy school connection welcoming them, and although I don't necessarily have a problem with that, I do have a redirect project I'm trying to work on on Bulbapedia, and my time would be better utilized doing that.
Basically, I'm asking for more people to monitor RC every few minutes and welcome all the users that have registered. If your connection is good, it shouldn't take but a few seconds per user. Let me remind everyone that, although our content is better than ever, it's still important to expand our community. We're getting a lot of new registrations, and chances are a few of those will end up being real quality users.
That welcome message could be the difference between someone staying and making the wiki a better place, or having their first few edits reverted because they didn't know the rules and subsequently leaving out of frustration.
Take a few seconds, look at the RC, and welcome some people. Thanks.
