Cashing in a review of Grunt Work by Patrick Haines. I feel like it was a sloppy review and it was a slog to write, but POINTS!

Depends on the monthly challenge in question. Some make sense that you can only claim once per month, such as April's bonus (found at the bottom of the first post), otherwise points would come in too fast. If a monthly challenge doesn't have that stipulation noted, it can be claimed multiple times per fic/month.

I'd also like to actually put this work to use for once. I'd like to get a story banner! I already have a story cover (Canis is wonderful) but now, for the sake of forums/signatures, I think it's about time I get a banner, too. Something that isn't too small that it doesn't look like anything, but still small enough that it isn't an intrusive thing in my signature. Definitely wider than tall.

As for the actual content... well, when it comes to story banners, I've found that giving the artist some leeway on what to actually depict helps immensely when it comes to artistic direction, aesthetics, and so on. So I'll just give a few general ideas: Obviously, it has to feature Owen. Open-secret spoilers: he evolves into a Charmeleon relatively early on in the story, so having him at that point might be appropriate, too.

I was thinking about depicting a few characters. Charmeleon Owen and Milotic Zena, the former probably partly wrapped up in the latter, the two of them reading a book to the left side of the banner. Zena's front half could be curled around Owen so she could read with him, and her lower half would go along the bottom of the banner, with the story title above her tail like a sort of underline. I think that'll take up all the space? But at the same time, it seems a little boring. I don't know if that seems like a good direction, so artist input would be really appreciated, especially if they happen to be familiar with my work already.

Oh good, I rambled without actually giving a solid direction. But that's generally what sort of vision I have, but I'd be open alternative interpretations on something bannerly.
