Jessie's hair color is definitely a rich magenta. And James' is lavender. Their hair is purpler than it used to be in the old days of cel animation, in a sense.

I agree with the Hair colors, but it bothers when people(particularly PCI) say that James has Blue hair, when it's clearly lavander!

Reminds me of when Cacnea left and they had Jessie saying all of this stupid stuff "We're not running a charity here!" and to top it all off she said Cacnea's name instead of James'. I mean wtf was up with that?
That I do remember ¬_¬ And with great dislike. Honestly, if they could, they'd have let James run off and have Jessie stand there and laugh at him or something.

I do actually like Kojiro's hair colour better now, but redder-head Musashi was so much much nicer :-( The magenta just looks silly IMO.

I like the magenta! It's silly, but Pokemon is silly and I didn't even notice the change at first. :p

You know, Jessiebelle's hair and eye colors were always a bit different than Jessie's (Jessiebelle's hair is redder and her eyes are lighter), it's just harder to tell with the cel animation. I kind of like that they're easier to tell apart now with the colors, actually... it just drives the point home very quickly, the point being that they're very different people despite their similarities.

For one thing, Jessiebelle is the kind of girl James would rather die than meet again while Jessie is the kind of girl he wants to stay with forever. X3

Hahah, that was clever, Rocket Girl!

Eek, there's a morbid thought. How long would one last after the other dies (of old age, hopefully)? Seeing how they're like symbiotic beings, I figure it wouldn't be long. ._.;

I got the original differences, but for me the fact they look so similar only emphasises how different their personalities are. But it's all subjectiive I guess :p (And I liked the redder better anyway!)

+ RG's edit :)lol:) - Hear hear! That's why I want her to come back - so that everyone who's forgotten can remember!

I think they'd die simultaneously or something! It'd be a gap of a day at most.

I could see them having a suicide pack actually. But even if they didn't, I doubt it would be very long at all.

Nah, they wouldn't kill themselves :/ I don't they have it in them in the least - even for each other. I think they'd just die of "heartbreak".

But that's even more depressing. :-( I guess I'm just a sucker for dark stuff.

Snake- Congrats! That's really great, I'm so glad for you. =)

DP55 was what got me into Rocketshipping. Before I saw that episode, I remember thinking how Jessie and Meowth 'weren't good enough' for James, and that he should quit TR and find real happiness somewhere else... but when I saw DP55, it finally clicked in my brain that Jessie and Meowth actually made James happy... especailly Jessie, I remember thinking. She had gone so far out of her own way just to make James happy by stealing a Pokemon for him. There had to be something more to it..

Also, I watched only the English dub back then, and I still found the episode really, really sweet and... really, really shippy.

Really? Wow. That's very interesting.

If the dub of DP055 did it for you... just imagine what he dub of DP117 could do... :-D If PCI can just get the gist of what's going on down this thread could explode.

I think suicide is worse than heartbreak tbh. It just wouldn't fit anything they stand for.

Apart from agreeing that that ep is awesome, there are 2 really nice things about that:
1. DP is still attracting new fans (I know, I know RG, I haven't forgotten you :p I just thought that you were a bit of an anomaly!)
2. Even the DUB can do it, despite fucking up! (And I believe the same () still applies, but as I said...)

actually, one part of the DUB of DP55 was shippy. Jessie said that she'll "...give James Buizel to help mend his 'Cacnea-less' broken heart once and for all!"

That is kinda cute, but at the same time the tone's so... brash? I mean "once and for all!" I haven't heard it, but in my head it doesn't sound very nice...

I've always thought of myself as a bit bit of an anomaly anyway. :p Especially considering my age.

Even though Shiny first got into it with that BF episode, she's only been a fan for a shorter amount of time than me. (To Shiny: And wasn't DP partly responsible for your getting into Rocketshipping anyway? Can't quite remember.)

So that's two and a half new fans thanks to DP. A very good sign that Rocketshipping is far from dead indeed. :)

lol I forgot about that! That is one thing I remember enjoying when the dub aired.

It didn't sound brash at all ii kanji. Head on over to YT and see for yourself.

Are you addressing me? :p Because it didn't. I fell for the Hoso head first and never looked back! I was pretty diehard before seeing any of DP, let alone anything worth seeing xD Not to say that DP hasn't increased my love...

My mistake then :) I'll check it out. And as K-M said, we gotta recieve every little thing from the dubbers with thanks!

...

Well, I hate to puncture your theory, but...no, I don't think so, from what I recall. After "Berate and Switch" I watched some random episodes, nothing I remember particularly. Then I saw Movie 2 quite early on (and I've been a big fan of Rocket/Twerp cooperation episodes ever since).

I think I also saw Movie 8 around the same time, which had that scene where Jessie gets swallowed by the glowing red whatever and James looks like his heart's just been torn out, and then the adorable scene where they're just sitting there hugging after they get revived....

But as soon as I was able, I started watching from "Pokemon, I Choose You!" and went in order (save for seeking out "Holy Matrimony" early because of all I'd heard about it :p) So I ran into "Pokemon Shipwreck" and "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak" rather soon after starting, which just cemented the whole thing.

Oh, wait - the first Hunter J episode impressed me mightily, and while not RocketShippy, it was RocketFriendShippy...which (I almost hesitate to admit) I like just about as much as RocketShipping. I can't help it! I adore Meowth, and I've always loved stories of true friendship just as much as tales of true love. I'm just odd that way! ;-)
