Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

There was a loud scream from the broken window, and the canine-like xenomorphic creature perched upon the sill. A ghastly roar escaped its skeletal maw, and then Se7en began to climb the building. Civilians were staring at the spectacle, policemen were calling for back-up. As he reached the rooftop, Se7en let out another inhumane scream, disappearing from view.

Shinotsuku Ame smirk of an emotion near satisfaction easily contrasted with the terrified shrieks of the bystanders. He gazed at the beast with only confidence.

He hoped that his partner was still examining the statue as he searched for a way to ascend the building.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

At last, Vanargandr arrived at his destination, the Liberty Island. He gazed up at the colossal, beautifully sculptured neoclassical statue of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata, a tablet evoking the law. A broken chain lies at her feet, and Vanargandr doesn't have to be an art expert to tell that the statue represents freedom.

Freedom. The one thing he craved so much.

The robot wasted no more time admiring the wonderful work of art and started climbing towards the torch. Though his metal claws made it easy for him to climb, the railgun on his back halted his advance due to its weight

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

"It's attempting to escape..." Shinotsuku Ame muttered to himself, observing the beast that he was pursuing. Gathering rainwater, the orb of water in Ame's posession began to expand to a large size.

As this happened, Ame began to realize the sheer hypocrisy of what his current actions would do. He had accepted Vanargandr into his care, yet another canine-like, mysterious being was before him. Simply barging in and assaulting the unknown assailant would make him no better than the terrified, confused citizens below him.

...And the terrified, confused citizens in the subway, observing Vanargandr.

Nevertheless, it was easy to see that this creature was far more ominous and destructive than his mechanical ally. Breaking down the door with a simple blow from his staff, he entered the building, ascending it from the inside.

Se7en's almost pained cries echoed throughout the buildings, ominous and fear-inducing. The massive creature crouched down, lying in wait for Ame with his glowing violet eyes the only thing that pierced the darkness that had ensued the city.

His attempt at climbing the statue bear fruit at last. Vanargandr, now perched on Lady Libertas' shoulder made a small growl as he gazed towards the torch. The estimated height from the torch to the ground is 93 meters, and certainly falling from a height that tall would damage his feet.

He approached the torch slowly, his metal claws firmly grasping the hand of the statue. Vanargandr's optical vision was fixed on one thing: the liquid like substance that covers the top of the torch.

"Analyzing.... loading.... loading.... error. Not found." The robotic voice muttered. ".... it is likely that the substance is not listed in the periodic table."

In his mind, he wished that the rain would just wash the unknown substance away.

"At last...the roof..." Ame said to himself. He had scaled a plethora of starcases, examined broken windows within this apparent office building, and futilely attempted to evade the nearly traumatized buisinessmen within. And now, only the stairway to the roof lie before him. Essentially ignoring the "DO NOT ENTER" sign, he proceeded up the flight of steps, expecting the worst.

As he stepped outside, the first thing he noticed was the pouring rain. The intensity of the precipitation reflected his determination to examine this being before him. Shinotsuku Ame silently gazed at Se7en, ready for anything.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

The cruel violet glow from his eyes illuminated his face, a gruesome, bloodied canine skull about the size of a large cardboard box. "Foolish creature," he laughed, advancing with his long claws crunching the concrete underfoot like a snow bank.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

"Malevolent indeed..."

Shinotsuku Ame opted against making the first move. Instead, he stepped back, wisely deciding that getting too close was not the best idea. After all, Ame merely had a staff and a pair of knives to work with. The large ball of water within his posession began to dim in color.

He thought about his partner. Surely Vanargandr had gathered some information about the ominous substance surrounding the statue of Lady Liberty. If anything else, a sample to be studied would prove incredibly useful just in case.

...But right now wasn't the time for that. No. The time was to focus on this creature. If Se7en made a move? He assured himself that he would be ready, the water surrounding him reflecting no light.

Shinotsuku Ame winced in pain, anticipating the next move of this bear-like creature.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

Surely enough, the xenomorphic creature began to alter its shape, taking the form of a large tarantula with red and black bands of color. He inched towards Ame, lashing out with his hooked appendages.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

Vanargandr activated his railgun, the sound made by the mechanism inside his railgun audible even underneath the downpour, the wrist of Lady Liberty locked on as a target. Though Vanargandr's railgun projectiles do not contain explosives or propellants, they have extremely high velocities.

A projectile was shot from his railgun and pierced the wrist of the statue. With a loud sound, the torch fell to the ground. Luckily, no citizens were harmed because everyone was taking shelter elsewhere.

There. It would solve the problem. Anytime soon the cops would be all over the place and surely they would send for a scientist to analyze the substance. For now, there are more important thing to do. Let the authorities deal with the substance and the statue.

Vanargandr climbed down the statue with haste, and proceeded to find his partner, Ame

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

"Oh shi-"

Though he had anticipated an attack, Ame was entirely caught off guard by the transformation of his foe. The claw of the tarantula slashed toward him in a very swift motion; despite his efforts to prepare a dodge, Ame was unable to completely dodge the assault. He had leaped to the left, but he had gotten struck in the leg, right below the knee.

The rain had helped to wash away the blood, though. Shinotsuku Ame knew that the claws, at least, of a tarantula had no venom. Within one quick movement, he rolled away evasively. With the water already in his grasp, he noted its dark color and laughed.

He had previously imbued this water with a dark force. This darkness would superheat its target with a surge of energy, and then lower its body temperature to freezing levels due to the lack of energy in pure darkness. Though it inflicted some pain on him to do so, he flung the dark water at the foe at a close range, hoping to stun the opponent.

Raising its forearms to block the sphere of water, Se7en charged forward in an attempt to ram him over the rooftop's edge.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

The metal wolf blazed thorugh the streets of New York City with a burst of speed, paws outset, claws piercing the ground ready to unleash a war upon the flesh of anything that threatens his current master. Citizens of New York watched in frozen horror and awe as the robotic wolf blazed past them like silent rushing water between the rocks.

Vanargandr zigzagged past parked cars and galloped through a small alleyway. He climbed the stairs that led him to the rooftop of an apartment. The wolf scanned around for his partner and for a split second, he couldn't believe his eyes. He saw Ame, fighting a hairy and very large arachnid belonging to the Theraphosidae family of spiders.

"Logical conclusion: subject is capable of shapeshifting. Engage with caution, Ame." Vanargandr's robotic voice was muffled by the sound of the rain hitting the earth. He doubted that Ame could hear him. Let alone see him. Vanargandr readied his railgun and took aim of the spider. The railgun on his back made a buzzing sound, ready to fire. He was just a few buildings away from Ame amd the shapeshifter. He must be careful not to hit Ame or things will be fatal.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

Shinotsuku Ame was wondering how the opponent was able to somehow block the sphere of darkness-imbued water. The dark power should have done major damage to anything it hit. He figured that either the tarantula was either insanely powerful and showed no signs of the intense pain that should have followed, or he simply didn't use enough energy.

Not like he could at this point though. He was already in a lot of pain from the last darkness attack, not to mention the claw swipe he had taken earlier. It just wasn't worth it. Rather, he would rely on his primary power.

As the foe recklessly charged at him, Ame synthesised a large volume of water from the surrounding rain, large enough to envelop.the advancing menace several times over . He launched the aqueous blast at the foe. If it connected, it likely wouldn't severely hurt the foe. What it would do is push him back, which is exactly what Ame was trying to do.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

Letting out a roar as it was slightly restricted, the tarantula was forced back to its primary form. Letting out an ear-shattering roar, it took after the metallic wolf aiming at him.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

A small growl escaped from Vanargandr's jaw as the canine like creature approached him at high speed. The creature's senses and reflex must be really good if it could spot Vanargandr and chase after him after being knocked back by Ame's giant blob of water.

With deadly precision and confidence, Vanargandr shot his railgun at his locked on target.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

Ame was surprised by the sheer effectiveness of his attack. Without missing a beat, he drew both of his knives. Compiling them into a single spear, he was in a better situation to combat the foe.

...But what was this? After returning to its original, canine form, Se7en turned around, as if it was fleeing. No, not fleeing. It was pursuing someone else. In the distance, Ame could detect a shiny, metal figure, the almost luminous gleam reflecting through the raindrops.

Finally aware of Vanargandr's presence, Shinotsuku Ame contemplated his next act. While he figured his ally would cover him from the front, he loosed a blast of pure darkness at the foe from his hands.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY - Issue #5: Why is Six Afraid of Se7en? (SitR, Lady Macabre, Selen

Despite its size, Se7en quickly dodged the raingun's shot. With the pulse of darkness Ame had fired, he let out a dissatisfactory growl as he was strained back. With one last burst, he brought forth a paw full of long, razor sharp talons upon Van's face, aiming at the eyes.

(OOC: Firstly, I don't see how one could "boost" themself forward with darkness. This is the lack of energy, not a surge of it. If anything, it should slow Se7en down, not blast him forward.

Second, if Se7en brings "a paw full of long, razor sharp talons across Van's face," isn't that godmodding/autohitting? Or is it a QuickStrike? If itis, please specify it.)
