Character

Real Name: Ling Fan
Alias: Feling Fatale
Affinity: Super Villain
Citizenship: Japan
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Appearance: Ling has always had a slim, yet feminine build, standing at 5"5, her Akido training training has helped her tone up to the point where she is able to take down some opponents twice her size in hand to hand combat. Can usually be found dressed in an all black keikogi and hakama, her ebony hair is tied and styled into a hair bun, fixed in place by her hair pin. Wears an oriental mask, usually all times when in public, rarely showing her face. Attached to her back is her trusty katana, passed down to her by her mother before she was given to the wealthy Chang clan in order to be trained as a bodyguard.

Without her mask, Ling has a very feminine face; with eyes that are piercing blue in color. Has a long, crescent shaped scar down the right side of her face as a result of a mishap in her early years of training.

Superpowers: Extreme speed and agility; an above average awareness of her surroundings, having a "sense" of dark intent
Talents: Trained in all forms of martial arts (specializing in Akido) and fighting with her katana, however she knows that she needs to train more in her katana fighting ability.

Equipment: Oriental Mask, Katana

Origin/Backstory: Ling originally came from a very poor background, living with her mother and father in a remote part of Japan, her father left in order to seek fortune and to try and curry favor with the emporer; leaving her and her mother behind. In her youth, her mother was a well renowned swords-woman, known for incorporating various fighting styles into her training. Her mother pursued her fighting training in secret due to the fact that her parents felt that it wasn't a suitable goal for a lady to pursue; so they instead arranged for her to be married. Her mother then insisted on giving Ling the chance she never had; making sure that from when Ling first gained the ability to walk; she would begin her first steps into training.

Ling trained for years under the tutelage of her mother; hoping to one day gain favor with a wealthy family in order to be employed as a bodyguard; isolating herself from her surroundings; however in doing so she didn't realize how she never really had the chance to pursue her own goals, or discover her own path in life in general. Unfortunately for Ling, she never got the chance to work this out and due to increasing financial difficulties, she began actively searching for ways to bring money to her family; managing to gain the attention of the Chang Clan; who needed a bodyguard in order to protect their eldest son.

Vowing to do her best; she gave the job her everything; doing whatever they asked; however one day she discovered the awful truth; that their son was involved in illegal activities, mainly human trafficking. Ling confronted him; which lead to a violent physical confrontation; where she nearly lost her arm; and in the case of eldest Chang son; he nearly lost his life; as during the scuffle; he suffered a serious blow to the head. Due to the false accusations brought against Ling and the imminent threat of her incarceration and bringing shame to the Fan family, Ling was forced to sell what few assets she had managed to acquire in her time of employment; and leave her family behind, not wanting to bring on them any further shame, vowing to try help them from afar.

For several months; Ling worked as a mercenary; an assassin for hire to anyone with the right price; in her time she worked as a thief; henchman, working on the fringes of the law; it was then when she was once again confronted with the possibility that she could end up taking another person's life; which came as a wake up call. From here, Ling decided her ambition; to achieve good in her life; to use her skill set for the better and become a daughter her parents could be proud of, to bring honour to her clan, to become known for the right reasons and eventually clear her name, turning her career into that of an "honour assassin; taking out those who could pose a threat to her fellow clans" For the mean time though; life as a villain is one she is content with; provided that she doesn't take from the innocent.

@Heroic Sociopath: Do you plan on working with anyone else? Jose Rosario will be working alone. Done with the plot save for that one detail.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Rogues Gallery Issue #2: Swords and Sorcery has ended and the hero Magister has successfully thwarted the villain Blade.

Both of these characters are now available once more to participate in additional Rogues Gallery plots.

@Izumi Curtis: Approved!

It's never too late to join this party! I'll get Feling Fatale added to the roster.

@Singing in the Rain, you sure you don't want to ask if Izumi's new character doesn't want to join us as your ally? If you do, and if she accepts, I'll take Magister as my ally. Otherwise I shall have no allies.

...Hmm

...Okay. I think I will. You can get another character as well.

Finally, the weekend. A chance to sort things out here on this site, haha

Apologies for the double post. But I will formally ask this. Would Izumi Curtis's character like to work with mine in the new plot?

I feel like that victory was a little too quick....Magister seemed to have an unfair advantage. Anyone else get that vibe?
It did seem that way a little bit, to be honest.

Not sure which one of you was over/underpowered, though.

The problem was Magister was fully armed and making creative use of limited powers, while Blade has no powers and was inexplicably missing some of her equipment, seriously limiting her options. She was probably fated to lose a direct confrontation under such circumstances. Barring giving her back her spears, she might have had a better chance of winning if the initial chase had been more drawn out, giving Magister a harder time catching up to her.

Oh, hey. Looks like I've risen from the dead, by the looks of it.

Character

Real Name: Cyrus Strangelove
Alias: The man in the musty overcoat, Mr. Strangelove
Affinity: The guy's a super villain, despite the fact that he thinks otherwise.
Citizenship: Unknown, presumably America.
Gender: Male
Age: 188, maybe more.
Appearance: 6'8", very thin, lanky as can be, skin that appears to be as pale as a ghost, odd to touch, almost as if he's a corpse of some sort. Cyrus dons a stovepipe hat, a very old looking overcoat, a wine red suit vest, a white button-up undershirt, black dress pants, a black tie, a pair of spectacles. Cyrus has shortish black hair that appears to be graying, somewhat, and a beard of the same color and so forth. He also appears to be wearing a ruby skull pendant.
Superpowers: Control over various forms of magic, whether it be elemental, illusion, or otherwise, curse based. Cyrus knows how to wield it. Cyrus also possesses extraordinary strength and speed.
Weakness: While Strangelove seems nigh unstoppable and virtually too difficult to defeat, most would not suspect that the overcoat he dons is the source of his magical powers, and hides the fact that he's nothing more than a living, frail corpse that falls apart if not tended to on a constant basis. And removing the overcoat would not only render him entirely powerless, but it'd reveal his true, corpse-esc appearance as well. Not to mention, the only way to kill him is to completely destroy the overcoat as a whole. While shredding it would also do the job, that would allow to coat to reform itself and ultimately undo the death of Strangelove. It appears that Strangelove is also attached to some sort of contract that limits his free will to do things.
Talents: Strangelove is a great liar, which comes from him being a world class gambler and thief back in the day.
Equipment: Aside from his coat, Strangelove only wields a metal cane with a animal skull-shaped head.

Origin/Backstory: Originally a gambler from the old days with his childhood being born somewhere in England, having spent his childhood in Salem, Oregon, according to him, Cyrus could lie and trick anyone dumb enough to fall for his silver tongued ways, and made a living and fortune off of being a travelling thief and liar, duping criminals and lawmen alike.

Until one day, his lies and treachery finally caught up with him, and Cyrus was violently stoned to death by the criminals he tricked and denied a proper burial by the lawmen he outfoxed. Strangelove was buried in a swamp inside an unmarked grave with no coffin. While death is the end for all men, it wasn't for Strangelove, as he was confronted by a fallen elder god who sought to use Cyrus' gift of lying to work as penance for his sins towards man. Forcing him to trick people into a one-way trip to a new home, of sorts. Despite the situation and possible outcome, Cyrus reluctantly accepted this offer and soon rose from his pitiful grave as a corpse in near shambles. Luckily, the god wasn't too cruel, and had empowered Strangelove's overcoat, which Cyrus used to undo the damage being dead had done to his body.

Since being resurrected, Strangelove has been responsible for the disappearances of several dozen people worldwide, and number seems to be growing to this day, and his current location is unknown, but it's said that he's been on American soil for some time now.

Hello all! I'll go over the new sign-ups soon, sorry NYCC sort of took over my life for a while! xD

Username: Sudowooper
Name: Jared Smith
Alias: Almond
Alignment: "Hero"
Age: 38

Appearance: 6 foot 2, average build. He has pale brown skin, short black hair, and a black short-boxed beard.
He always wears a tan leather jacket, even when its warm (though its usually open). He usually dresses in red shirts, and wears black pants.

Power: Anyone who gets infected with his saliva will transmit a disease. This disease lasts 32 hours, but the same person can be repeatedly infected.

While the person is infected, Jared can freely increase or decrease the power of the symptoms the person has. The more saliva in the victim's bloodstream, the more symptoms they can have, and the more intense they can be ( 4grams is enough to be lethal)

Talents: Jared is capable of remaining calm in even the most desperate situations. He's also rather good at making speeches.

Equipment:
* Two syringes, both of them with 1 gram of saliva.
* A tranquilizer pistol with 10 darts.
* A bag of jelly beans.

Origin: Jared's father was an electric supervillain named "Doctor Shock." He was a loving and caring father, if a bit aloof at times. However, his evil schemes often got his family negative attention. So, when he was 8, Jared gave his father a disease.

This disease was used to reform his dad. Whenever he was going to enact his evil schemes, Jared made the symptoms get worse. Whenever he was being a humanitarian, Jared made the symptoms weaker. After five months of manipulation, his father couldn't be a villain anymore, due to the feeling of pain he recieved whenever he was trying to be evil.

Figuring it to be a success, he went to other criminals as well, trying to reform them with the same methods.
He's had some successes, a few failures (some couldn't be infected), and he's even had to terminate one or two lost causes, but he still continues trying to reform villains to this very day.

I suppose.

José Rosario is a modern day Robin Hood with nothing but good intentions- and a plan to revolutionize the economy for the sake of the lower class in any way possible. He has enlisted the help of the Honour Assassin Feling Fatale to assist him in the grand endeavor of robbing the largest bank in America: JPMorgan Chase & Co. With a massive amount of money, Rosario plans on donating a large majority of it to cities suffering from general poverty, such as his own. In order to suceed in this plan, José and Feling Fatale must sucessfully seize a large enough sum of money from the aforementioned bank and escape from the scene.

Inevitably, this plot will put many people in danger, and cost the grand bank a proportionally grand sum. Furthermore, it will not be easy for the duo. The shape-shifter Trance and the powerful swordsman Magister will stand in their way, intent on preventing the grand heist from suceeding. In order to win, they must either defeat the vigilante duo in combat, force them to retreat, or otherwise prevent a large sum of money to be stolen from the bank.

In the end, which will prevail? The yearn for an economic revolution? Or the rule of law and justice?

He took up the mantle presumably a few years ago, and is known for being rather brutal when it comes to interrogation and working with others, which he seldom does unless he's given no choice when planning out his attack on villains and corrupt people in powerful positions, the Ragman has been a known fugitive for years, despite the people's protests, the government and law despise the Ragman's efforts for justice for all. But with little to no information, there is very little they can do to flush him out, or corner him. As he's also a nomad of sorts, and never stays in one city for long due to his hunt for the truth.

Decided to make a hero, too.

Real Name: Douglas A. Smith
Alias: The Shadow Man
Affinity: Anti Villain
Citizenship: Texas, USA
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Appearance: Douglas is a average looking guy. He stands at five feet and ten inches and weighs 165 pounds. He has long brown hair that's usually tied in a ponytail. His eyes are grey however under extreme rage his eyes turn completely red even to the point of glowing in the dark. Due to his ability to shape shift he can take on any from he wants but usually keeps his true identity unless dealing with other people especially when working with other villains and heroes. He tends to alter his form to that of a very large muscular man with blue eyes, close cropped black hair and tan skin when hiding his true identity. While in this form he goes by Karl Trotsky. He wears dark clothing as Douglas wearing black shirts, a hooded leather jacket, jeans, black converse, and fingerless gloves, and a paperboy hat. As Karl tends to wear clothes that accentuate his physique. He typically wears an A shirt, running shoes, and jeans.
Superpowers: Shape shifting, limited regeneration. His shape shifting is his primary power allowing him to take on any form he desires from people, animals, and objects. When fighting he turns his body into a weapon transforming his arms and legs into any basic weaponry. He can cause a lot of damage using hammers, swords, and ropes. He can also deflect blows by transforming parts if his skin to metal. However to transform into something he has to touch it. If he transforms into another super powered being he can't use their special abilities. He has theorized that he could make a gun or canon with his body however it would cause the matter to die after it left him. Which could mean he could lose a finger or even an arm were he to try. Making it a dangerous last resort. He also has limited regeneration due to how his cells work. If he were to be shot or stabbed as long as it wasn't in the head he can heal the wound within 24 hours depending on the severity.
Talents: He is a talented hand to hand combatant who's abilities make him extra dangerous in a close encounter. He studied fighting techniques quite a bit in his youth, and while not following one particular style he has blended his own style and it's quite deadly. He has above average intellect and deduction skills. He also is a talented musician.
Equipment: N/A
Origin/Back story: He was born in Texas and grew up with a mostly normal life. He attended a pretty normal small town public school. He was mercilessly bullied as a kid, and after much bullying left and started teaching himself at home. He graduated high school by the age of 15. However since he could not leave his home he worked and studied his own interests and hobbies as well as pre college prep work. He studied fighting styles from many cultures as to never be bullied or beaten again. Working at a pizza place he was agian after many years met with the fact that he didn't fit in with his fellow humans. He had always felt like a black sheep not really fitting in with anyone. In his studies of man he had seen how corrupt they can be. He wanted to see a world where all humans where equal, and no one could be better or hurt anyone else. However he started to feel depressed by his life and world. He decided to take his own life knowing that he would never be accepted by the world or ever fit in. As he hung himself one night after leaving work a figure pulled him from the lamp post he was hanging off of. The figure shot him full of a glowing red energy that revived him. This figure said he had imparted great power into his soul. He would be an emissary of the world and work to be a catalyst for change. Douglas vowed from that moment on to make the world better. He became the Shadow Man.
He discovered his powers and his greed and desire for revenge made him to some pretty awful things as well as take a lot of money from banks posing as rich men. As he amassed wealth and stature of his own he realized how empty his world was. He felt as hollow and empty as he had in the beginning. He needed a cause a purpose for his life. He thought of what the man told him all those years ago as he woke from death, and he decided he would change the world. He would make it the utopia he had dreamed of as a child. He started his mission to make the world better by forming a private military with his wealth that worked behind the scenes to do his bidding. As well as company that manufactured weaponry. His final goal being to unite the world under one flag his own. He plans to make the world the best he can be, and will stop at nothing to get the job done.
