A Bug Robot? Please no, I just want a bug with steel armoring. Please don't turn an insect into a robot.

Water/Fighting Pony sounds weird... won't judge it though. It'll be a big surprise.

I never really understood what Hihidaruma was meant to be (other than a monkey), but I suppose a new forme for it makes it's origins more interesting than I had previously thought.

I never saw it as Fire/Psychic, but there it is.

Hihidaruma is a Daruma Doll. Google them, the similarities are uncanny.

A form? What? Why does it need a form, I wonder?

I wonder how and if they will tie the two lesser trios into the main story, or if they will.

I also wonder why the raijin trio is split up in the same way the dragons are and if that signifies a connection between the two groups.

I can imagine that the dragons are based off of western culture considering the Knights' connection to them, the Raijin will be based off of japanese culture, and the new dogs will be based off of chinese culture similar to the starters.

I like how Hihidaruma transforms from a fire bersek into an ice (?) peaceful thing. I think that is the point of the forme?

has anyone seen the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008 version)"

"The robot, named "GORT" (Genetically Organised Robotic Technology). After receiving the order from Klaatu, it then transforms itself into a swarm of self-replicating insect-like nanites that begin destroying everything in their path."

this is what i think about #649 bug/steel

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. Not sure how I missed that before XD

Also, Melkor just posted this on Twitter:

556: Dancing Cactus Pokémon. It has yellow eyes and spikes, and two pink flowers sprouting from the head. Two arms, no feet. Pure Grass.

- Cacnea much?

Assuming everything that the Pokexperto team is saying is correct, and also assuming the pokedex numbers have a direct correlation to their location, there seems to be a real effort at providing at least one pure type of each type early in the game to create an equal balance and a fresh start.

Fire - Baoppu
Grass - Nayappu
Water - Hiyappu
Normal - Minezumi
Dark - Cat Pokemon
Psychic - Munna
Electric - Shimama
Normal/Flying - Mamepato (I know it's not pure, but it's similar due to pure flying rarity)
Rock - Gigaiasu pre-evo
Ground - Moguryuu (although this breaks the trend by gaining a second type upon evolution)
Fighting - Wood-plank fighter

Of the types that seem to be missing from the early routes Steel, Ice, Ghost, and Dragon are traditionally available later in the game, although hopefully the pure steel and pure dragon pokemon Giaru and Kibago will be available soon after.

More notably missing from the early routes are Bug and Poison type pokemon, but their absence could be possibly explained that the leader of the first gym uses a grass type(s), which bug and poison are both super-effective against and will probably be available in the routes just after the first gym (although not pure types) with Kurumiru and the centipede.

Although I know there is still a lot of pokemon to be revealed, the humble poison type seems to be the forgotton species. So far there is only the one Bug/Poison family (although I do realise that no non-legendary Ice or Ghost families have yet to be revealed, I know their time will come), as well as being the only pokemon type without a legendary pokemon.

You know, we haven't run into the flying squirrel or another electric type in a while.

We haven't even reached halfway the dex. We have 60-ish Pokemon, and the end with the legendaries. Still much more, there's still lots of room. We're in the desert area. All the Pokemon before the desert Pokemon will most likely be before we arrive Hiun City. :)

Yay! Another cactus Pokemon. :)

I was actually disappointed at first, seems like a Cacnea ripoff. But then again, he said it has no feet, which makes me think of the stereotypical two-branched cactus you always see in cartoons. Cacnea's a different kind of cactus and Cacturne is just... not remotely cactus-like other than the color and spikes. If it looks the way I'm picturing it, I guess I can't complain.

Wait, I just noticed he said it was a DANCING cactus. If its evo looks anything like I imagine it (a giant sombrero-wearing maraca-shaking saguaro with a mustache), I'm gonna have a hard time choosing between this and Smugleaf the Third. Seriously, this thing has the potential for epic craziness of Ludicolo-esque proportions (and it will certainly look a lot better than that duck-billed pineapple thing... whatever the hell it's supposed to be).
