Re: What new "kinds" of Pokemon do you predict?

Whoever designed Rhyperior, Magmortar, Lickylicky etc. should get fired. And Electivire.

That said, giving one-stagers a new evolution isn't a bad idea. Just make it better than Rhyperior and Magmortar. For example like Weavile, that one is well designed.

Prevo of Lapras and of Kangaskhan for sure!

Evos of Jynx and Mr Mime seems logical, just make them better designed that those of magmar and electabuzz..

Maybe a prevo of Mitank and Tauros, that evolve to either one depending on gender.

Alright, you got me.

We really do need a Dolphin pokemon though. I mean, 4 gens and still no dolphins? Also, Jellyfish.

Tentacruel and tentacool are basically jellyfish

I'd rather discuss new Pokemon that evolve from older Pokemon.

How 'bout jellyfish other than Tentacruel and Tentacool?

If this were the case (unfortunately), then everyone would want penguins other than Piplup, Prinplup, and Empoleon. They would want a giraffe other than Girafarig. You could say this for a lot of species.

For one thing, it's possible to have more than one Pokemon based on a single species of animal (Eevee and it's evo's, Vulpix, Nintetales, Zorua and Zoroark are each based on a species of foxes). Tentacool and Tentacruel are... well, they fall under the category of "the Pokemon that annoyingly pop up when you're Surfing/walking through a cave". I really do think it'd be nice to have another type of jellyfish, or even something like a giant squid, for once besides Tentacool and Tentacruel.

Yes.us Insects and other Arthropods alone could be enouth for the next 9001.108 years.
Also, Water-Ghost Vampire squid. Also learns electric moves, and ability is either illuminate or one that conserves pp.

Ugh, no kidding. I have to use a Super Repel whenever I go surfing ANYWHERE. Much as there are other water-type Pokemon that I want, I'd rather not face nine billion Tentacool first. -.-;

Umbrella Ghost Pokémon (in traditional Japanese mythology, it is believed that once an object reaches the age of 100 years it gains consciousness or, in some variations, is possessed by spirits and brought to life. The most common object to be possessed is the Japanese type of umbrella, seen in Kirby's Dreamland 3 and many older JRPGs. It's only logical for a few new ghost types and this would be a nice addition.)
Wow, that's pretty cool to think about, actually.

Also, Relicanth isn't supposed to evolve. Remember, its description says about it not changing for like, millions of years.

I'd definitely like to see a moose Pokemon so I could name it Lumpus and make a Camp Lazlo theme team, that'd be pretty cool, too.

Although I am not a massive fan of the bug type, I would be if there were more powerful bugs. I am amazed that we have not had a fire-bug dual type yet - perhaps something like a firefly or a fire-ant would do the trick? For some reason I also imagine some kind of giant beetle. The bug type really does need some TLC - I was happy to see Aaron in the Sinnoh Elite Four, however even his Vespiquen, Yanmega and Heracross were pretty easy to beat down. His Drapion was another story for me, somehow, but that isn't a bug-type. The developers could do so much better than continuously recycling the worm or the typical flying-type bug - Weedle, Caterpie, Wurmple, Beautifly, Dustox, Masquerain; there are so many more interesting types of bugs in the real world. I was happy to see Heracross come along, as he was useable and different from the average bug.

I know, I know. I'm just saying that if everyone wanted a new Pokemon for a species that already exists in the Pokemon world, we would have 300+ new Pokemon. You want another jellyfish, someone might want another sloth, another wolf, another lion, another stag beetle, and the list goes on. I understand what you're saying though. Tentacool is annoying. It'd be nice to see a variety.

Think this idea works well if done this way

1) have pokemon that are based on a type of animal in the Gen, but make each very different so the variedness (is that even a word?) seems fine, like eevee, vulpix etc... as was mentioned.

2) Have one or two pokemon per gen that are based on the same type of species, like how in 3 gens we had butterfly/moth based pokemon: Butterfree, Beautifly, Venomoth, Dustox, Mothim etc...) In Gen IV we had dustox and Mothim, both based of moths, but each very different.

Yeah good idea and pokemon based on myths and legends

Really? Did you really just say that?

:banghead:

I'm going to assume you mean Western myths and legends; lord knows there's enough Pokemon based on Japanese myths and legends.

There's even a lot of western legends: We have a Phoenix (Ho-oh), european dragons (Dragonite and Salamence), Leviathan (Kyogre), Behemoth (Groudon), and probably a couple of others.
