Fisherman = Water type
Magic = Psychic type

So basically a Water/Psychic Pokemon, maybe a dolphin?

That's what I was thinking

and it goes without saying but

projecting consciousness = psychic
through bodies of water = water

I'll be salty if we're wrong lol

We finally got the wolf, so I wouldn't be shocked to finally get the dolphin in the same generation.

Salty like the sea; this is so confirmed.

In the info on page 1 it says:
"N1: Yukie Nakama, a Japanese actress, and Kirsi, a protagonist in anime Darker than black, which don't point to the new pokemon directly." I am not quite sure how to interpret that part.
Anyway, personally I think that it may be the snowman pokemon or ar least some ice typ because the name Yukie derives from Yuki which means snow. Furthermore, the way the pictures are arranged and the fact that two people are presented might hint at a pokemon with two forms, maybe another day and night form.

Hmm. Well, if the snowman is really is an Ice/Ghost type, then that could also make sense. Yuki = snow, and Yin's consciousness took the form of a translucent spectre which could certainly be said to resemble a ghost.

@Desdar300 I have a quick question to ask: You translated the quote about the Rockruff and the starters before, did you see anything mentioning evolution? Serebii said on twitter that the quote asked about the starter evolutions, but I don't remember that being mentioned at all either in your quote or other translations. So I'm wondering where he got that from, if it's even in the quote at all.

IIRC, Kirsi was also associated with Water, so I definitely could see water being a type for whatever it is. Dolphins also makes sense with the fisherman bit as they are hunted.
Yes, on the next page Corocoro asked "How will they evolve" referring to Rockruff and the Starters so it's likely that they have version exclusive evos like Rockruff does.

Watch them make the possible Water/Psychic dolphin and Bruxish version-exclusive just to have more version-exclusive Pokemon. >_<

Can you just clarify this one last time? Joe wrote this on twitter:

, which seems to suggest that Corocoro asked what the starters will evolve into and not how they'll evolve, and that Rockruff's secret is separate from the starters'

They said that Rockruff has a secret in its small body ( We now know that Ruff's body can alter its evolution's look depending on the version we have) then it states that your Starter has a secret too ( Though it lumps them together with Rockruff hinting that the secret may be mutual) and on the following page below Komala they pose the question saying " how will they evolve."

In that case I'd like to float the idea around that if we do get split forms, version-exclusive or not, they would probably be on the middle evolutions. That way they can market the feature without having to spoil the final stages. Though I suppose that requires more effort on their part, it only makes sense if the secret belongs to the starters' first stage.

It's most likely their Final stages since it's make the most sense from a marketing standpoint.
On the riddle, I do think it refers to a Water performer Pokémon and a Dolphin would fit that pretty well

I think that it be better if we didn't get a dolphin pokemon. It doesn't seem like a cool idea in my opinion.

Understandable - I can see them fudging up on the dolphin idea, especially if they end up sticking to the stereotypes too much. I personally think there's a lot of room for creativity here - a lot of cultures have legends about dolphins, and dolphins themselves are complex, intelligent animals. There's tons of ways they could go with a dolphin Pokemon in terms of basic concept alone.

I was even discussing this with garrison-san a while back, about a Dark type dolphin that focuses on the seamy, malicious sides of dolphins. And I know how much you like Dragon types - they could do a dolphin Pokemon that borrows from sea serpents, make it Dragon/Water. :>

Plus I'd rather have more Pokemon based off of animals we haven't covered, instead of foxes, monkeys and cats all the time.

On the subject of the riddle, I've looked at all the clues you guys are mentioning. While I can agree with the dolphin, I want to propose another idea for the sake of bringing another idea into the mix. Maybe the Pokemon is actually a part-Water type that looks like a human woman? Or, if the "Trick" part is what we're focusing on, and the anime girl's magic powers related to water, maybe the Pokemon has Magician, or uses water magic? It could be a rusalka.

If both the actress and the anime girl are 1) human(oid), 2) women, and 3) have varying levels of association to water and magic, a rusalka might fit. But I have a feeling I'm focusing on things at face value and ignoring what the riddles REALLY mean.

It's unlikely, but I'd prefer a river dolphin over an ocean dolphin. I mean, look at this goofy, pink boy! They're practically Pokemon already!

It should also be noted that river dolphins in folklore (both Old and New World) are often shapeshifters who take human forms. So, feel free to tuck that in with your Riddler theories.
