Are there any rumors about what will follow Pokemon Sun and Moon?

I don't think so. I do know quite a few people who are hoping for Gen IV remakes (including myself).
Me too. Considering how DP actually sold more copies than Ruby and Sapphire.
Unless they are trying something new.

I think you are likely to see d/p remake for next year, because I think they will stick to their two year cycle, and it is the next in line for a remake. Personally I think the pokemon for that gen are by far the worst and my least favorite. I dislike like 80% of them, but it is the next in line and there have been comments about it. They will not do gsc remakes again because the remake is still on ds and newer than dp.However I would be thoroughly surprised if they take out gyms and whatnot. A remake is not about redoing the game it's about making it attractive and interesting enough with minimal chances that it retains its playability

And why are people thinking that because they are a plot relevance in the game they won't have a movie? Every legendary gets a movie chances are they will tie them in together or one will about lunala and solegaleo and the 2nd one will be the ubs and marshadow. I believe they will be apart of the same movie.

I want DP remakes, but only if they maintain the banishment of HMs and infuse the Gyms with Trial-level dynamism and interactivity.

If they're not going to do that, then I would rather see something new.
TBH I just want to see the Distortion World in 3D and some new Sinnoh megas lol

I'm also curious to see how Megaverse Sinnoh is different from original Sinnoh.

There's not really an objective guideline to the ethos of remaking. What you've stated is certainly one philosophy, but it's not the only one. I myself think that remakes should take a close look at what worked and what didn't, and see from there how to improve the original.

Besides, I'm not saying to "take out" Gyms. I'm just saying to change them up to make them not so boring.

These are convincing arguments for DP remakes, I do agree.

I'm also curious to see how Megaverse Sinnoh is different from original Sinnoh.

They've certainly got plenty of room for plot expansion due to Infinity Energy, since it was way back in DP, I think, that they first started to discuss the fact that Pokémon release a kind of energy when they evolve. Plus, free Kalos references, since we know that Sycamore studied with Rowan.

Though I think we're veering quite off-topic now.

I don´t think they will ever go as far as changing classic Gyms, and HMs, in a remake...

I think what should follow SM for 2017, is a huge VC collection. Gen II on the VC during the first half of the year, Gen III on the VC during the second half. Putting all those games on the VC will probably add up to a similar amount of cash as a brand new game would, while requiring a lot less work on their part.

I had actually meant to add that i doubt they will change it if I did not.

I got 2 Questions for you guy to answer
Pokemon DP Remakes in 2017 or 2018?
Pokemon DP Remake on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo NX or both?
2017. 2018 will be gen 8. Two year cycle. Xy was 14 and oras was 2015 with sm now.
Chances are it will be 3ds and i would think exclusive but it is hard to say

Is vc virtual console?

Pretty sure they will have DP remakes in 2017 and on 3DS, and things like Z Moves, Silvally etc will be incorporated, as well as references to Alola and some features, but pretty confident all our Sinnoh Gym Leaders will be staying around and we will get some Sinnoh Megas as well (Mega Infernape anyone???)

GSC VC could come in Feb 2017 but personally I think it will be Feb 2018 after DP remakes, just as RBY came after Ruby Sapphire remakes. Rather than remake remakes, they are releasing originals on VC.

I think we are jumping the gun a bit. As far as I know nintendo does not have any virtual consoles, so until that releases you are not gonna see any games for it, because they are not going to put pokemon on playstation or anything else, and they shouldnt it is not made for those consoles and I do not want to see it, but even if they do it you will see a new game before a remake I think, and you will see a gen 1 remake beforw gsc hate to break it to ya but gsc is fairly new, and newer than the original, and that's my final 2 cents on it.

Jumping the gun?

I just meant they should do with Gen II (GS/C) and Gen III (RS/E, FRLG), what they already did with did with Gen I (RGBY).

Wow their def of virtual console is just...i dont want to say wrong but it kind of is in my understanding of it. I do not classify any of those as vc. Vc to me is the new stuff thats out that actual puts you into the game. All the new VR stuff is what I refer to as a VC.

Oh so you mean not really a remake but a rerelease of the original on digital copy?

Edit: moving on! So lets just say for arguments sake that all of the pokemon discovered are all there is. What else do we have left to discover? Obviously the story, but what about battle bonds, z-forms, z-moves, z-crystals and so on. What have we yet to learn and what have we learned?

I just call those virtual reality. They're not "virtual consoles" and in most cases they all require external help from something else to make it possible - a PC, a smartphone or a home console.
A virtual console would be more akin to, I guess, a virtual PC, to my understanding - beyond things like emulation as is the case with Nintendo's Virtual Console.

In any case, yes, they've been referring to rereleases of the original Gold, Silver & Crystal in the same way Red, Green, Blue and Yellow were.
