Review S16 EP30: The Island of Illusions!

Yeesh, now I REALLY feel sorry for Zoroark :-(

It's bad enough it went from being the Badass of Gen 5 to being completely forgotten (while Zorua was crammed in our faces for a while), but to get an episode THIS late in the saga and barely get any screentime as itself?

That's proof that Arceus just hates some people.

That's said, I did like that bit with Snorlax-man, that Zoroark could talk in human form and that the TRio upgraded to a sub of a water Pokémon that's worth something

That thing with the "Snorlax" that turned out to be a guy was funny. The Nurse Joy/Audino switcheroo seemed to go on a little too long, and I'm not sure what the big deal was about getting onto or off of the small island when they have a Charizard and a Dragonite who, between them, should have easily been able to carry them across. Overall though, heartwarming stories like this are always nice. It's always interesting to see how intelligent Pokemon can be too. Zoroark learned how to make at least basic medicine from Nurse Joy and kept doing it for the wild Pokemon. Sure, its technique was a little rough around the edges, being a Pokemon and all, but the end result was just as effective. You'd think someone who prides himself on his detective skills like Cilan would have figured things out, but oh well. The events of this episode were a lot weirder than a gem theft, you have to admit. :p

Regarding Zoroark being able to talk while disguised as Nurse Joy, it was all part of the illusion. Since they could not only see, but also smell and hear the giant Heatmor attacking and the apparent forest fire, it stands to reason that Zoroark would be able to make them hear "Nurse Joy" speaking as well, at least relevant lines that it can remember her saying.
