Sableye is the segment for who's that Pokémon in the dub.

Interesting that Laurie Hymes is credited when none of her confirmed characters appears yet Kate Bristol, previously confirmed as voicing Alolan Persian isn't credited

Guessing Laurie Hymes now voices Persian

Probabrly our first sign of a Kate Bristol role replacement.

Did they keep in the PokeProblem segment where Ash learns what Lycanroc's Z-move is called and how to do the pose? If not, there's gonna be a dub-induced plot-hole in a future episode when he finally uses it

I always put their knowledge of things like this as happening off-screen

Given SM's general disregard for its source material, I can't really fault you for that sort of mindset
They never keep those in the dub.
And that's really depressing

There's been so many little fun omakes at the end of episodes over the years

So the Grand Trial is up next!

Hey, so Nanu isn't half as irresponsible and lazy as you'd think, eh... :D

A three-on-one? That sounds intriguing,... and difficult. Wonder Ash will be able to keep up and perform.

Oh, so, Krookodile versus Lycanroc is up first. Nice seeing Lycanroc still being able to control his anger; I low key thought it'd lose control again in the heat of the moment. :confused_emoji:
Also, nice thinking on Ash's part to avoid getting hit by Counter. Though yeah, Rock Throw is not very effective... That wouldn't be much help either. Ash could have asked Lycanroc to use Stone Edge instead, but I guess he forgot?¿ Oh well, Krookodile still got defeated by Rock Throw, so yeah... All's well that ends well. ;)

Sableye versus Lycanroc is next. And man is that Sableye strong. Obstructing movement with Mean Look (I don't why it does that in the SM series, but yeah...) and then attacking is a pretty cool strategy. Nice seeing Shadow Sneak in the anime as well. (y)

That Pikachu-Poipole rendezvous in the sidelines... I don't know what it was but it was pretty funny to watch.

Ah, yes, there's the Stone Edge... Get rekt'd, Sableye!

Tapu Bulu sure has a fascination for Ash's Lycanroc, what with dropping a Sitrus Berry for Lycanroc to heal.

And finally, we have Alolan Persian. And it's a Totem Pokémon?! Umm... Interesting... (y)

Nice seeing Dark Pulse's effect of flinching the opponent in the anime. We don't really see these too often, do we... (y)

I absolutely adored how Nanu was trying to get to Ash's nerves with his remarks, to prevent him from battling with a cool mind. His statement about nothing being fair in a battle against a Dark-type specialist really impressed me. This strategy... Yeah, it's unfair, and this really brings out the sinister element associated with the Dark type.

So, Lycanroc's eyes glowing red is a symbol of power boost now instead of its anger... Good to know! (y)

Ash countering Black Hole Eclipse with Continental Crush was AMAZING! :sneaky:

Ah, Ash finally defeats Nanu... and earns a Lycanium-Z. GREAT!(y)

I really hope we see more of Acerola though!

A pretty entertaining episode indeed. Really liked how the writers decided to add the element of unfair play in this battle against a Dark-type specialist. An easy 10/10 for this one.
