Also wow, not even they want to talk about just how disappointingly underwhelming the Jessie and James battle was (as it's literally the main title of this episode) and to be honest, I can't blame them.

This episode is very inconsistent with James's characterization, what with him seeming to have completely forgotten why he took part in this League to begin with.
Because he saw that Mareanie didn't want to just roll over and lose?

Same thing happened with Lana and Mallow

It's a very common thing that shows up constantly in this league, so keep an eye out for more cases of it going forward

It's that we previously saw him get fired up when the MR exhibition battle was announced, so it's kinda weird that he seemingly forgets about that motivation in this episode, it not even being as much as the source of his determination.

Because he's still a doormat for Jessie and it takes Mareanie wanting to battle for him to snap out of it and actually try
 
That's a problem I have with Jessie and James, Jessie's more dominant and expects James to submit to it

Other members like Cassidy and Butch are more or less equal and accept each others suggestions
