Honestly, the only think that really stuck out to me in this episode was how weirdly out-of-character Meowth was acting throughout. I know Pokémon ages are deliberately kept ambiguous and he fell in love with a human girl way back in the original series, but for him to be crushing on Chloe of all characters felt... odd, to say the least. I'd understand if it was just a "she's too pure for this cruel world" sort of endearment, but it felt like a little more than that. Either way, if a girl being nice to him is all it takes for Meowth to want to be caught, then why was he so adverse to Iris trying to catch him back in BW? Also, Meowth seemed to treat his teammates as very expendable in this episode. It didn't feel like the usual jabs, either; it felt like he genuinely couldn't care less about them. Team Rocket members have never been written consistently, but that's a whole new level.
