Has anybody know any hidden things in Pokemon's names and designs. For me I only know one really cool thing and that is that SAWS in Sawsbuck stands for Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. So if you know any cool things about Pokemons designs or name post them bellow!

^Really? No way! =P lol yeah that's true, but everyone knows it. XD

- Emboar has a beard
- The red dot on Chingling's mouth is not its eyes
- Hydreigon has a bit of a mechanical detail in its design
- The elemental monkeys are based off of the See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil
- The Clefairy line looks like Lucy from Peanuts
- Venemoth looks much similar to Caterpie while Butterfree looks much similar to Venonat
- Conkeldurr, Sawk, and Throh look like Muppets on steroids
- Mewtwo is a cross between Freiza and Giygas
- Excadrill is actually smaller what he looks in his sprite form

The "shorts" are a moustache.

Ekans and Arbok

are snakE and Kobra backwards?
Yep, and Muk is something else backwards. It was originally spelled Muc. :D

Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon are named after one, two, and three in German.

Empoleon is named after Napoleon, and it has a 'collar' on its body, resembling a collar on a shirt. And the trident on its face refers to Poseidon.

Moving into human characters, Cynthia's name references her home region (Cynthia, Sinnoh), and it's the same in the Japanese versions (Shirona, Shinou)

I could go on forever.

I don't think you've understood the initial post..

BREAKING NEWS! Cilan, Chili and Cress are based on spices, CILANtro, water CRESS and of course, CHILI. Also The elemental monkeys are based on cooking, PanSEAR, PanPOUR and PanSAGE.

An obvious one is Deoxys is named after deoxyribonucleic acid, aka DNA.

Omanyte is based and named after ammonite, an extinct snail.

While Hydreigon is a play on the Germanic word for three, it could also be a play on "Hydra", a mythological dragon-like five-headed lizard. Hydreigon's design is based on Yamata no Orochi, a demonic serpent from Japanese mythology that had 8 heads.
