Shippers' Paradise General Chat Thread

yes i invented it (i think??) it is called sugarandspiceshipping and i just like the idea of her being like the worlds nicest gf ever and hes all tough and cranky and generally guzma but also the worlds nicest bf ever <33
they would bond over bugs
she would help him learn to love life and take better care of himself
he would help her learn how to say what's on her mind and stick up for herself more often
and that would so be him fr i mean "LimberLoveMuscle" is such a guzma username even

You just influenced a whole new hyperfixation I hate you /j

sugarandspiceshipping is one of the best names I've ever heard for a ship, like god it fits so well

actually, y'all are onto something about katy/guzma....especially bc she does have that fierce side, so in the beginning she definitely wouldn't have hesitated to put him in his place if he got out of line...idk, i think guzma is not used to genuine kindness, and he'd probably instinctively snap at someone trying to be nice to him, and maybe have some toxic masculinity bs going on at first (like, a "i don't need your pity/charity/etc" kinda thing), but since katy isn't the type to let someone walk all over her (at least in her personal life...it's kinda a different dynamic w/ your boss, but even then, by the end of the game katy's through w/ pandering to geeta as well), she'd clap back at him, and would probably earn his respect for that (as i think he'd appreciate someone who didn't cower away from him, and would look him in the eye unflinchingly), and also maybe that duality she has (sweet, but still got a bite to her) would intrigue him into keep coming back....i think i'm giving myself belle/beast vibes from disney's beauty and the beast, bc the thing is, belle never actually set out to change the beast or go "i can fix him", and instead, she just kept on being her awesome self, and then the beast was inspired on his own to try to be a better person and to give back to her for her kindness, and then she in turn was appreciative of those efforts; i'm envisioning a similar kind of dynamic for katy/guzma. like, belle has that moment, when she brings the beast back to the castle after he saves her from the wolves, and she's completely unimpressed and unflinching in the face of his roaring and yelling as she's tending to his wounds, and stands her ground as they argue about whose fault the wolf incident was (and belle basically wins said argument XD), and despite everything, she still genuinely thanks him for saving her life, which takes the beast off-guard, and that disarms him enough for him to drop the anger that he'd been using as a kind of protective armor (and which he then never puts back on around her), and that's the turning point in their relationship. (sorry for dropping a thesis about batb, but it really irks me, when ppl cite belle as an example of the toxic "i can fix him" trope, bc she literally does not do that, she never once puts up with any toxic behavior from him, and all the effort of changing the beast's behavior for the better came from his own initiative, not her...okay, i'll stop ranting now XD). i can see similar events playing out w/ katy and guzma, and from there he could go through some growing pains before they work their way towards having that emotionally rewarding relationship that was initially outlined...

and...i've probably put way too much thought into this, sorry about that. hopefully it wasn't too obnoxious to read XD

no no, this is great, art even. I will take this into account whenever I end up procrastinating writing about them

ahh this is a rly good analysis and comparison and i could imagine it being like this if they were to meet in canon...pokemon masters throw us a bone pls
