Same here!I did it! I'm the champion!
Full team rundown to come later.
The more you defeat/catch a certain species of Pokemon, the likelier it is that you will find a shiny one. The shiny chance increase maxes out after 500 encounters at a 6x multiplier applied to the shiny encounter rate. I'm not certain if the increased likelihood only applies to wild encounters though. Not only that, there are two types of shiny Pokemon now--though they are identical color-wise. The difference is that the first type of shiny will have stars appear as its sparkles while the other will have squares. How are shiny pokemon and hunting different in this game compared to past games? Is it easier now? And it seems that eggs are the easiest way to go? my goal is to get a shiny appletun at the very least.
yeah i wasn't sure if the defeating/catching rate had anything to do with the breeding. oddly enough my durant is squares and completely random as that was my 3rd defeat of a durant. The more you defeat/catch a certain species of Pokemon, the likelier it is that you will find a shiny one. I figure the Masuda Method will still be the easiest method. Getting the shiny charm and a foreign Ditto/Applin and probably defeating/catching 500+ Applin will maximize your chances of getting a shiny.
Man, your Dinadan is actually a male.Sir Dinadin
If it makes you feel better, I have another game file on Shield where I have a female Scorbunny named Campion.Man, your Dinadan is actually a male.
I need to pay attention when naming my Pokemon. My female Sylveon is named Dinadan and my male Roserade is named Amy,
Not sure how to fix the Dinadan situation, but you could rename your Roserade "Axl".Man, your Dinadan is actually a male.

There are people who would kill for a female starter, given the gender ratio on those things.I have a female Scorbunny named Campion.
But that ruins the joke. See, he's Amy Roserade. Not sure how to fix the Dinadan situation, but you could rename your Roserade "Axl".
Normally I’d agree with you but I feel like this generation I’ve heard of more and more people getting female Starters on their first try, especially with Scorbunny. I'm wondering if the gender ratio for the starters at the beginning of the game was toggled with when they were shiny locked? There are people who would kill for a female starter, given the gender ratio on those things.
