On Bulbapedia defines side story episodes as episodes that aired in place of reruns on Weekly Pokémon Broadcasting Station or Pokémon Sunday. My problem with this, though, is that it awkwardly places a series of unrelated episodes under one numbering system, some of which don't even happen in the main anime continuity, one of which aired in America first, and the list page even says that it's not associated with WPBS or Sunday.

There's been talk of moving the Guardian Signs two-parter to no numbering, and giving the Mega Evolution Specials their own numbering system, but what about the others?
