OOC: There will be an OOC thread where I'll explain some things about the college and so forth. Freshman students, post as if you're moving into your dorms. Sophomore students, you get free reign on what to post really.
==========================================================

It was the week of August 23rd, and students, old and new, were coming to Silver Hill University. For the freshman, this was orientation week, meaning they got to move into their dorms, experience the long hour orientation event, experience their first taste of college, and so on. One of the better things about orientation week was that there were stations set up all over campus for clubs, activities, sports, and the sororities/fraternities. It was a great opportunity to make new friends and to get settled in. Today was the day that Freshman would begin to move into their dorms.

The Upperclassmen, however, only had to move into their apartments, and they were free until classes started the following Monday. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors were available for apartments, but they were given out on a 'first come, first serve' basis in terms of sophomores and juniors and the apartments were the ones on campus. All Seniors were guaranteed an apartment, be it on campus or off.

Sarah approached the university's entrance, feeling both excited and anxious. She had promised her parents she would stay out of trouble and to study hard, and was hoping she could keep her promise. Pushing her nerves aside, Sarah took a deep breathe and walked into the campus.

Having already moved into his apartment, Tim was sitting on the couch playing Xbox. The sophomore was relaxed, even as his living room was a smoky haze. Of course, this was intentional, rather than due to an unnoticed fire. He was about to start up a new round when he heard a knock on the door. "Who is it?" He shouted loudly.

"Sabrina!" The Latina fireball on the other side of the door answered.

"Come in!" Tim said, standing up just as Sabrina walked in. "Hey, how are you?" He asked, not having seen his friend since May. Sabrina smiled as she walked over, giving Tim a hug.

"Good, good, I just finished moving in. Only a few doors down which is good." She smiled, looking over at the television. "Have a second controller?"

"Yeah I got a replacement over the break." Tim seemed almost sheepish, mostly due to the fact that the reason he had been without a second controller was the fact that he had accidentally melted it.

"Good. That was rather annoying. Hilarious though." Sabrina remarked with a smile before walking over to Tim's fridge and grabbing two beers. Popping them open, she brought them back to the sofa as they both sat down and started up their game.

Yami, having just finished moving into her dorm, sighed quietly to herself and sat on the edge of her bed. The rather undersized freshman had felt in constant danger of a panic attack ever since she had moved in. However, she was glad for one thing; she was away from home, from a father that had constantly abused her after her mother's death. Though, with that came the looming possibility of being bullied by the upperclassmen, something she was used to by now, but didn't like regardless. The pigtailed girl rubbed one of her bruised wrists through her sweater, letting out a pent-up breath as she closed her eyes. Calming herself, Yami slowly got off the small bed and approached the fridge, pulling out a soda and closing the ajar appliance. Popping the tab, she took a sip, walking back over to the quaint living space she would occupy for the coming year.

Calvin stepped onto campus and instantly turned heads with his appearance and overall aura. He carried himself like a football player, and his size led credence to that. As he walked, he kept his hands inside his white 12 jersey, a common quarterback idiosyncrasy. He was nervous and anxious, but it translated to his facial expression as anger. He wanted to be anywhere else, but he reminded himself that he was here for the opportunity to play football, and was able to swallow his anxiety and keep walking.

Luna had just finished setting up her apartment as she had gotten a text on her cell phone. Sighing, she turned to answer it. Of course, it was Kayla. They were the best of friends since childhood, and they went to boarding school together. However, due to Luna taking three years worth of advanced classes, she managed to gather enough credits to be a college sophomore. In the end, she managed to bypass freshman year while Kayla was left behind. She hoped it wouldn't cause too much of an impact on their friendship.

No, the deans will not allow you to stay with me in my apartment. I know dorms suck, but you're gonna have to toughen it out.

"Now this is what I'm talking about," Alejandro called out as he made his way through the campus, making sure to take in every single sight around him as he carried his bags around. He was glad to finally be in Silver Hill, if only for the fact that he was able to live out on his own and not have to deal with his parents, he could do whatever he wanted. "I'll have to find some people first though," he said to himself before looking around for the buildin his dorm room was located in.

After finding his dorm room Alejandro proceeded to get himself set up as fast as possible, eager about getting a chance to explore som emore. "Well it does suck that I have to go through orientation week but I guess that works too," he muttered to himself, setting up his clothes and everything into the room. "Okay....now what the hell do I do?" he asked to himself, taking out his phone for a moment.

Sam was glad to have her room inside of her dorm for the upcoming year. She smiled as she looked around her newly decorated area. No way she was going to have to deal with another annoying roommate like she had her freshman year. Sam was actually looking forward to the upcoming year, and had already planned her schedule out for the semester. Eager to use the campus rec center again, she changed into her workout gear, and set out across the quad.

Kayla sighed as she finished unpacking her things. She didn't want to have to deal with a roommate this year. She had yet to meet the girl, and was rather nervous. Before she even gave herself the chance to calm down, she grabbed her things and headed outside. She had to get away from it all.

Yami had decided to go outside a little before Kayla had moved in. The petite teenager had aimlessly milled around the campus for a while, until she eventually sat down on a bench to think about what the next day would be like. The undersized girl, with her champagne-hued hair put up in teal-tipped pigtails, stuck out like a sore thumb - at least, that's how Yami had felt in such a strange environment. She would have to make the effort and not ridicule herself in the coming years, though if she had learned anything from previous experience, life would find some cruel, twisted way to screw things up for the freshman.

Calvin was wandering aimlessly around campus, trying to figure out what to do or where to go. He eventually found the rec center, and decided to enter, not having anything better to do. He couldn't decide what to use first, and ended up just looking at the equipment for a while.

Kayla was debating on sending Luna another text, but decided against it for now. She needed to explore the campus a bit more, and then decided to nag the other girl later on. There were many clubs setting booths up along the quads, many of them being for sororities/fraternities, choir groups, drama teams, and so forth. None of them really intrigued the woman, but she kept looking. She still didn't have a set plan on what she was going to do for her major and minor either. She planned on spending the entire orientation week trying to figure out where she would fit in and what she planned on doing. She couldn't exactly get a degree by trying to convert people to more free-spirited lifestyles. However, she knew that wouldn't get her anywhere. That's when she saw a booth for mental health awareness. Immediately, she walked over and began to speak with the representatives. This was an issue near and dear to her heart. She also had depression, but it also affected so many people she held in high regards, especially Luna.

In her apartment, Luna was on her laptop, typing away while the animal channel was playing on TV. She had gotten bored and made herself an online dating profile. Yes, her horrible luck with men, relapse of reasoning, and Kayla's influences led her to doing this. It was out of her comfort zone in every aspect, but she still did it. Chances are that no one would notice, but that wasn't the point. As she finished posting her bio, she posted a semi-dated picture of herself. The main difference was that the hair color was a shimmering pastel silver hue. Of course, it was just hair chalk, but she thought it was beautiful. She never strayed too far from her natural black, but used non-permanent methods to achieve her goals. Suddenly, she felt guilty and changed the profile picture to the most recent picture of her, revealing her true hair color. It was a picture of her by the pool, her freckles splashed onto her face and skin like a glittery explosion.* When she was satisfied, she posted the bio and turned off the laptop before resuming her show.
