in soulsilver/heartgold, is there a way to do well in the pokeathlon pokemon football game? i cant get the pokemon to move as well as i hope.

Yes. They way I do it is to get a Pokémon with good stamina and speed, as well as good enough power. I then use one to just dribble the balls onto the goals, instead of kicking it. The other two will generally stand around the field and I'll use them to kick the ball away from my goal and/or on the direction of the other goals, where I'll then use the dribbler to push it to the goal.
I usually do pretty well on that doing it like this, with the exception on the times where the AI is extremely aggressive and is just constantly kicking it around.

oh yes i beat red as well as trading pokemon with jasmine, lt surge and brock and getting a hoenn starter from steven, so not sure if i'm meant to meet him somewhere else for the trade?

Yes, if you can RNG it. Then as long as you RNG it correctly, you will always get it female
I kids. Outside of resetting or RNGing, you can't guarantee that it is female on normal means.

need help catching pineco please in soulsilver. i found him after much bashing of trees but he unexpectedly commited suicide and well yeah...
also i keep finding male combee on route 25 when bashing the special tree but i need a female combee to get the evolution and havent seen any female ones yet, what would you suggest?

Keep trying is all I can say. In the case of Combee, you also have the option of breeding a male one with a Ditto to try to get a female.

For Pineco, use a Pokemon with Damp to prevent it from using Self-Destruct. Psyduck, Wooper, Poliwag, and their respective evolutions all can have Damp as their ability in SoulSilver.

I just bought a copy of Pokemon Black on Amazon in the US, and I ended up with the "UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore" version. The box looks exactly like the US version with the ESRB logo on the front, it just has a little graphic that lists those other countries on it. Here's a picture of what the box looks like:

I did some searching on Google, and most people are saying that physical games from these regions are all identical to the US versions and work exactly the same on US hardware. My 2DS (the original 2DS, not the new one), Nintendo Network ID, Pokemon Bank subscription, and all my other Pokemon games are all from the United States.

I'm just concerned though because Pokemon games might have some extra issues with trading that wouldn't come up in other games. Specifically I'm wondering if I'll be able to transfer Pokemon from this game to my United States Pokemon Bank account, or will the Pokemon Bank system flag me for some kind of additional region lock. Also will Pokemon caught in this game show up as being from the US when you look at the region of the Pokemon in game (that little 3 letter thing on the top right of the summary page that says "JPN, GER, etc")?

I'm really hoping someone else here has tried this before and will be able to say from personal experience how this works. So has anyone bought one of these "UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore" versions and successfully used it on their US 3DS and Pokemon Bank?

Does anyone know where I can find the free coin in the Celadon Game Corner in Gold/Silver? Bulbapedia states that a person occupying one of the slots will give one coin away but I have talked to everyone and no one gave me anything. In addition, Bulbapedia states eight of the machines are taken up. But there are only four people, plus one lighter..?

Hi All,

This is my first thread so I apologise about the title and subject matter. The thing is I can’t find Pokémon HG or SS on the eShop. I know the originals have been ported and are available on the VC but I could swear the remasters used to be for sale as downloads.

I can’t find any information to clarify this either way so it’s likely i’m totally wrong. Do you know and if so please comment I’ll give you a cookie. ^_^

HGSS were never available on the eShop. Main series Pokémon games only started being distributed digitally at the advent of the 3DS era, so from XY-onward.

There are no Ice or Steel-type specialists in the main game, but there is a major trainer who just so happens to use Steel-types.

Alright, noob mode activated for a veteran player and such but for the LIFE of me I can't figure out how to rearrange the moveset order of my party unless I'm actually IN battle???

I thought you could do it by pressing select while in their Stats page but nothing happens :/ Anyone know if this was something you COULD do in the physical copies and just doesn't work in the VC versions or if I'm just going senile?

Ok so just for those who didn't know, I ended up stumbling upon how to rearrange Pokemon movesets outside of battle not too many days after posting that (but I'm just now getting around to updating lol) and figured other folk who may silently be in the same boat I was would like to know how to do it without needlessly flinging themselves into low level tiffs to swap around a move or two.

Simply go to the POKÉMON page in your menu, select a Pokemon and move the cursor to the "Move" option. This is where it didn't click for me the first time, I had it in my head that this was to "move the Pokemon" itself around the party, not its MOVES (why I didn't question the "SWITCH" option being that, I'll never know) lol After selecting this option hit the A-button and you'll be brought to a page where you're given in-depth descriptions about the moves' strengths etc. :B Hope my confusion was able to help alleviate someone else's out there!

Anyway, I have a question, that may not have an answer, from what I googled.
Recently I got myself a Pokewalker, to go together with my Heartgold (I unfortunately couldn't play around with it when it was famous, I was too young and Pokémon games are expensive in Brazil). I notice that sometimes the step counter will reset back to 0. Only the active step counter, the total step counter keeps track normally, the watts are saved and all of that. Only the displayed step counter goes back to 0. Is there an answer for why it happens?
I've only dropped it once, on accident, when I tried to tidy my shirt and I somehow pushed the Pokéwalker off my pants... somehow... And I've only noticed that happening after the period of when the low-battery sign appears.

finally found chansey, but she has no attack moves other than fling (i think its the day cares fault as her left her there to get my happiney egg) but anyway shes on level 34 if thats any help but are there any TMs (attack moves only) that i can teach her?

also, im always told by the guy at pewter museum about finding fossils at "ruins of alph and other places" but ive smashed tons of rocks and never got a single one. has anyone here found them and what did you do exactly?
