Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gens 1-7)

If I use an HP Up on my Clefable, sure his HP will raise but it will have an effect in battle with real persons? Does it gonna to raise his HP or it will have no effect?

(Sorry if I am not really good in english)
Using an HP Up will give your Clefable 10 HP EVs which can be translated to 2 HP points (10 / 4) and the effect will remain on your Clefable whether you fight AI trainers or actual people.

Only 2 HP? It means that I need to buy a lot of thoses ! XD But, Thank you that helped me a lot. :)

Yea, but you can only raise a Pokemon's stat until 100 EVs using the vitamins. If you want to fully EV train its HP stat all the way until 252, I'd suggest you farm hordes.

What is farm hordes? :iamanoob:

Farming, as a verb. Meaning to trigger horde battles repeatedly (e.g. via Sweet Scent) just for the XP and EVs. Since hordes typically contain only one type of Pokemon, you get a predictable haul of EVs per horde battle, and if you have a move that can sweep all five at once you can use this to build up specific EVs faster than Super Training regimens/bags -- provided of course you know which horde Pokemon give which EVs.

This is my first post on this forum and I made this account solely to ask this question. Well, it's more like seeking advise (note, I am a relative beginner when it comes to the metagame). I'm trying to get a 5IV Axew with HP/ATK/DEF/SP.DEF/SPD. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get one with perfect HP IVs. I figured that I was doing something wrong but couldn't find an answer searching the internet.

Currently, I have two Axews with 5 perfect IVs but they both have SP.ATK instead of HP. The male is holding Destiny Knot and the female is holding the Power Weight. What do you propose I do? Will I have to start all over again?
You need to remove the Power weight! :) The power items guarantee the passing on of the responding stat IV of the parent holding it, so all of your baby Axews receive the exact same IV in HP every time. I hope this helps and good luck!

This is a follow-up to my last post a few weeks ago. I had only gotten around to trying this just recently.

I have taken the power item off one of the Axews and have hatched at least 50 eggs. However, not one of them has received a perfect HP IV yet. Can anyone think what might be the problem or is it a matter of patience?

Since neither parent has a perfect IV in HP, the only way for the baby to have a perfect HP IV is for both the HP stat to be the stat NOT passed down from a parent by the Destiny Knot, and then for the randomly generated HP IV to be 31. It's doable, but you'll most likely have to go through quite a few eggs until you get the one you're looking for.

OK so i completed the Yancy/Curtis quest a few days ago. I returned her Xtranceiver and she said to call her, so i did a few minutes later. Then i saved and quit. Now my Xtranceiver doesn't have doesn't have her name and i can't call her and i don't know why. Bulbapedia & Serebii has nothing about the name disappearing, and the only info i can glean is that its related to specific locations, so i went back to the places she called me and still i can't see her name.

Ah, the hordes when they are 5 pokemons, then if I pratice with hordes does it gonna to give more HP when I battle with real persons? And, how do we do to always find hordes?

Sweet Scent will trigger a hoarde. You'll gain more HP EVs when you battle against 5 Pokemon in a hoarde at a time than a single Pokemon.

If I remember correctly, the location you can call them from randomly switches around throughout the pool of possible locations. Try visiting all of them; at least one should re-add the contact.

Ok, thanks ! My Clefable have an attack that can sweep all five. But if I battle with real persons with normal rules (all pokemons are level 50), do my Clefable will have more HP than if I do not pratice him (with the hordes and blablabla) ? Sorry if I am a little bit disturbing I really want that my Clefable gets more stronger... :S

Once you have EV trained your Pokemon, the stat changes to it will be permanent (unless you give it certain berries that will reduce its EVs). Whether you fight normal trainers, wild Pokemon or AI trainers, your EV trained Pokemon will retain the invested EVs so no, battling actual people will not reduce nor increase its HP stat.

Is that what you meant by 'real people', then. No, you never get any XP from battling friends in multiplayer. Otherwise it'd break the difficulty curve of the single player mode.

I don't want that my Clefable wins XP when he battles with reals persons. I want that he has more PV.

Ok, thanks! It will help me if someone knows how ''upgrade'' all the base stats? (Speed, Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense) I only need HP, but if someone knows it will help me. Thanks :)

Questions about breeding

Hey guys so i captured a ralts with 3 perfect ivs. How should i breed to get one with 5/6 perf ivs? Thank you!! :)

Re: Questions about breeding

Breed the Ralts with another Pokemon in the same Egg group that has the IV's maxed that the Ralts is missing (if the Ralts is female) or breed with a perfect Ditto (can also be done with females, but it's the only option if the Ralts is male). Slap a Destiny Knot on one, and an Everstone on the one with the good nature and start hatching like your life depends on it!

So, Bulbapedia says the Drag Down Hydreigon Super Training regimen is supposed to give you a Sun Stone sometimes, but I've gotten a Moon Stone four times in a row. Does it only give you a Sun Stone during the day or something? (it's night here right now)
