So HP's are really determined by the trainer?
Is it completely random?
Going back I think somebody said that to get an HP elec type Sp. Atk IV has to be 30 at least thats what the guy said...

"You need your SAtk IV stat to be even (30), and the others to be odd (31) to get HP [Electric]"

Is there any truth to this?

A Pokemon's IVs determine the type and power of the Hidden Power. Once you've placed Hidden Power on a Pokemon, you can determine its type by battling several different Pokemon (or, as Tina pointed out, a Kecleon). If you want to see what type the HP would be on a Pokemon BEFORE placing it on one (or its power), you would need an IV calculator. There is no other way that I'm aware of (and I welcome ANYONE to show me another way).

"If IV of Hit Points is odd, then T1 = 1.
If IV of Attack is odd, then T2 = 2.
If IV of Defense is odd, then T3 = 4.
If IV of Speed is odd, then T4 = 8.
If IV of Special Attack is odd, then T5 = 16.
If IV of Special Defense is odd, then T6 = 32."

That's what it says on the guide

but what if the values aren't odd?

One of my friends tells me that eventually, Nurse Joy (or whoever works at the pokemon center) starts referring to you by name. Can anyone tell me at what point this happens?

If you get four stars or something.

I've got a question: Why does rock smash have to be so weak?

Hey all, I think I got my first GTS hack! =D Why am I happy about that? Shouldn't be. >_> Right, anyway. I picked up a Lunatone for an Arcanine. Caught in a Master Ball on June 19, 2009 in Turnback Cave. I know Lunatone is findable via dongle method, but the date and Master Ball capture make me a bit suspicious. Think it's legit or a hack?

the ball is probably a hack but the pokemon looks fine to me. lunatone can be found in the turnback cave if you have sapphire inserted in the ds. by thewaythere is a "Is My Pokemon Hacked" Thread.

Ah, thanks. And I'm aware of the Hack thread; I dithered on whether to ask this here or there. I'll go there next time. ^_^;;

Say if you've got a Houndoom. it's IV's are (In order listed above)
17
4
13
25
31
0

Then T1=1 because the value is odd
T2=0 because the value is even.
And so on.

A calculator would be best because IVs not only influence Hidden Power's type, but also its strength

On the TV the name rater had a show and it said that naming my Steelix Rusty made it aromatic and I should avoid the Great Marsh with it.

Is there any truth to it or is it nothing more than another random TV script?

Sounds like a random TV script to me. Probably picked a random word to describe it and then made some joke about not going near the marsh (because it stinks?).

What happens when the abilities 'Forecast' and 'Wonderguard' are copied by Skill Swap, Trace or Role Play?

Wonderguard isn't subject to Skill Swap or Role Play (I don't THINK Role Play works on it, though I'm quite positive about Skill Swap). Trace will copy it, though. Forecast, I don't know, honestly. Someone else can give a better answer on that.

Sorry if this is a dumb question~ I just got my first Pokerus-infected Pokemon (thank you, GTS), and I want it to infect my main team. How do I go about doing that? Carry them all around, store them in the same PC box, hope?

Carry them all around and get in battles. Though, if your main team is trained enough, pokerus won't do anything for them, because they've already been EV trained. I advise also infecting some trash, like a Bidoof or a Starly, and storing them in your PC, so that you always have something with Pokerus.
