2 reason pichu does not breed, and it is easier to breed shinies if you have one. the other would be to help complete my pokedex.

umm... having a shiny hasn't helped breed another shiny since GSC and pikachus aren't that hard to find.
if you want to make it easier to breed a shiny you need a foreign Pokemon

What Venom said in regards to breeding.

...You DO know that this specific Pichu helps you unlock an event in HGSS, correct? It'll only work if it's still a Pichu.

I did know but I figured that wouldn't matter aslong as I still had some form of it.

^ Nope. It HAS to still be a Pichu.

Did you prove that yourself? Someone on here has said that it will work even if you evolve it, based on their own findings, but that isn't to say their findings are truthful as well...

that maybe true but since HGSS is not out yet for us to test why risk it.

Or maybe Game Freak is actually making this thing easier on purpose.

I don't think it's the case; if anything, when you program something to do a very specific task, it has to work in all the cases in which that task is accomplished, not only in a few of them or otherwise your algorithm has flaws or it's glitched. As I already said, Arena Trap does work for the Legendary Birds but not Mesprit or Cresselia. If you're making a exception, why not all Pokémon which fall in that category are affected?

With regards to the Pikachu-Colored Pichu, I don't exactly know 'cause I don't have HGSS, but I guess that it MUST be still a Pichu in order to trigger the Spiky-Eared Pichu event; for similar events (like the Shinto Ruins with Arceus or the various Regi Ruins with the promotional Regigigas in Platinum), the game checks two things:
-Species of the Pokémon in question.
-If the Pokémon has the fateful encounter flag.
Internally (and in general I would say), Pikachu, Raichu and Pichu are counted as separated Pokémon so I think the question is already answered by itself...

People with Japanese copies...

No sorry, what I meant was that we as in Ace, Edo and myself can not confirm that it has to be a pichu to work why try it. considering Ace's reasons aren't valid. no offence Ace.

I know that if I am to use an EXP Share that both pokemon get EV's.

I would like to know that if you put a Power Item on the pokemon you are actually battling with if they both get the Pokerus/Power Item boost.

I apreciate your input.

no they dont. Only the pokemon with the item gets the boost. Same with pokerus, I think.

If I am not mistaken, the answer is no.. I read it from somewhere.. It will only gain the amount given by the defeated pokemon.. UNLESS, the Exp.Shared pokemon has pokerus.. Then it would gain Pokerus' effect as well..

Say you play through soulsilver and do the arceus event. If you trade arceus to another game and reset the soulsilver, can you do it again?

It worked with Regigigas in Platinum, so hopefully the same applies here.
