Im having a bit of trouble deciding between surf and hydro pump. What do you guys suggest?

It's up to you.

If you want more power, at the risk of accuracy and PP loss, go with Hydro Pump.

If you want a more consistent attack in terms of accuracy and PP, go with Surf.

In my opinion, go with Surf. You don't have to agree with that.

I prefer Surf as well.. I don't like low accuracy move.. And it's better in 2 on 2 battle..

Surf is much better all around. It has more PP, more accuracy and is therefore more reliable. As an HM, you can also use the Pokémon you taught it to for surfing water.

It depends. If it is for a sweeper, I would recommend Hydro Pump.
Surf is a better option when it comes down to accuracy and PP.

Anyone have a clue about the likelihood of events in the UK in the next few months? BP has nothing.

In addition to this, I am trying to find directions to get the orbs in Platinum. I see the waterfall and the entrance but I have no idea how to get to where they are and BP has pretty awful images. Any help?

I think I've done everything. I went to stark mtn, got rid of team rocket, went to celestic etc, not sure what to do or where to go to get the orbs. Do I have to go to beat the Elite 4 again? or go into coronet a different way?

Did you go up the Waterfall? The cave is right behind the Waterfall.

A Pokémon holding Exp. Share gets the same number of EVs as the Pokémon you're battling yields. If you're fighting a Starly (yields 1 Speed EV) with a Bidoof, and your Magikarp's holding Exp. Share, they will both get the 1 Speed EV from defeating Starly.

I don't know what your doing wrong I just tried and it worked for me. this is exactly what I did 1) I talked to Cynthia's grandmother read the book on the table. 2) headed to hearthome piked up my HM slaves 3) entered mount coronet. 4) got the orbs. 5) got to spear pillar. 6) fought dialga.
I just tried to that and the shrine still doesn't activate. I really have no idea what to do now. I'm out of moves, so to speak. :(

Erm....no shit Sherlock. The problem was I couldn't even access the water to surf, let alone use Waterfall. I did make that clear.

Sorted it now.

There are actually two entrances. One on the left and one on the right. To get to the second entrance you'll have to use rock climb. When you enter, you will see the water and the waterfall.

Well, if the parents are hacked, I don't see any bad point of it.. Of course, the moveset must be learn-able.. Unless your "hacking moveset" means the pokemon is hacked.. (=_=")

If you put it for trade, just tell others beforehand.. Some might mind, who knows..

Yeah obviously it'll be a learnable moveset.
Not like... Starly with Shadow Force. Obviously not.

Ya if the moveset is learnable then it can be traded but you've gotta mention its Hacked!

Yeah i'll be sure to mention the moveset was made via AR.

Thanks again everyone.

Okay I'm new to the whole IV's and EV's concept, and I'm wondering... How do you determine what EV's your Pokémon has?

Also, what are Base Stats, how are they determined, and how do they affect my Pokémon's stats?

you can't determine what EV's your Pokemon have. You have to just keep track of which Pokemon you defeated. by base stats do you mean IV's? if so then IV's are determined randomly with wild Pokemon. partially randomly with Pokemon you breed. you have a chance to pass 3 IV's from the parents to the offspring.
