Preview SM026: Farewell, Mamane!

"Satoshi and Serena's First Date!?"
"Satoshi and Serena! Catch One at the Dance Party!!"
Written by Akemi Omode, writer of 15 percent of XY episodes. She's, currently, written of 25 percent of all SM episodes, which make her a more of SM writer than XY. This is a Mamane episode, which means it's probably written by her. Funny, isn't it? Anyway, it's still tame compared to this one. There is a question mark in the first one, and second one is actually a mistranslation.
"Kalos League Victory! Satoshi's Ultimate Match!"
That's a neutral final match title, not clickbait.

Watch em do the 800th clickbait they've done with the anime... he probably won't leave, he just won't. Or if he does then he might get ready for his trail or head over to the next island since he MIGHT have been in the school for a long time!

*sees XY081 title*

*sees this title*

Here we go again.

It's gonna be so sad to see him leave :( Just like I cried my eyes out as a kid when Pikachu left in mid-Kanto and never came back, because when the title says "Farewell, ______" that automatically means the character is leaving and it's totally not a trick title or anything.

The japanese title for Pikachu's Goodbye was Forest of Pikachu...

....Congratulations, I played myself

(my point still does stand though that this show has troll-ey titles all the time)

Doesn't a troll title have !? instead of ! at the end?

I do say though, this episode may be a "Be careful what you wish for" moment for those who believed that the school aspect may be dropped for a traditional journey quest.

If that happens, I would say that Ash partaking in Pokémon School was in hindsight a waste of time.

Well Omode has written 6 episodes in an 18 episode span so far in Sun and Moon, from SM006 to SM024, but she also wrote 6 episodes in an 18 episode span in X&Y, from XY073 to XY091, so she might not write more episodes in Sun and Moon than she did in X&Y. And with XY105's episode title, it could also be seen as Get one at the dance party, since Getto Da Ze can mean both, but in the episode, no one caught or got anything, unless they meant that Serena would get a Sylveon, but saying that she got it or caught it isn't really true.

Not always, EP091's title is "Goodbye Koduck! Come Again Golduck?" and DP178's title is "Goodbye Rocket Gang! For the Love of Nyarth?!".

You were saying?

First title has a "?" in it so if it's obvious that it was bait , in SM026 case , there's no "?" in the title, remember when we got the episode title "Farewell , Satoshi-Gekkouga !" and everybody thought that it was bait and that Greninja wasn't going to be released ?

Second title has nothing shippy at all, they did battle together so yeah there was a part focused on Ash and Serena which was Eevee's evolution during their tag battle.

Third one never said that Ash was going to win , it's just "Kalos league Victory" not "Ash's victory".

I'm not saying that Sophocles will leave , you can check my post in page 1, I'm just saying that these titles weren't really bait when you really think about it so it's a bad example and I'm pretty sure that Omode is not the one who decide what the title of the episode she writes will be.

True, but the fact that one owns a Dedenne and one has a Togedemaru aren't big parts of there personalities and Sophocles hardly ever mentions the fact that he is an Electric type specialist. And yes, they both often show love for gadgets, but if Sophocles didn't, he probably wouldn't be as interesting. And with Lillie's knowledge from reading books, she could also be considered a geek as well.

Lillie' just a voracious reader. Not everyone who reads is a 'geek'. And I also specifically said a gadget geek.
And game Sophocles is an electric specialist. He just dosen't shout out the fact all the time.
And the anime has never changed Type-specialities of in-game characters.

Also, shoutout to those who thought that 'Farewell, Satoshi-Gekkouga!' Was clickbait.

Honestly, if Sophocles were to leave, I think it would be for a few episodes. You know, kind of like how Clemont left at some point to arrange things for his Gym battle with Ash. I could see Sophocles doing this as well and furthering his similarities with Clemont.

Yes, but it could also make someone a geek. It's not like she reads for fun, like novels, but she seems to be reading books that are meant to provide information Pokemon, and if she likes to gather information like that, she could be considered a geek, not that it would be a bad thing. And whether it's a geek to want to build things or gather information from books, both of those qualities can definitely make people see you as a geek.

And I know he doesn't always establish it, but that just goes to show that the writers also aren't trying to show off the fact that he's an Electric specialist, and if he isn't shown off as one, then I wouldn't consider a big part of his personality, whereas his love for inventions and such is a big part of who he is.

If he leaves, I don't think it would be for an arc like Clemont, or for longer like Brock, but for good. I don't see a reason for him to leave for either amount of time. Clemont had a good reason to go to the Gym, because that's where the rest of his Pokemon were and it's his own Gym, where he can train with Clembot and without any other distractions. I don't think Sophocles would have any reason similar to that at all.

Telling the truth I'd care less if Maamane left. For me he's boring and uninteresting (not mentioning the food loving character that's so common in any show out there).

Assuming the title is a huge trolling... I'm rather ignore looking for this episode in the future... Hate these kind of things.

Sending Clemont back to the gym for a few episodes was one of the only good things the writers did for his character. But I don't really think sending Sophocles somewhere for a little while would make as much sense. Unless he's going to train with Molayne for a while or something like that, which in actuality could be interesting, but it would feel strange to come out of nowhere.

Interesting observation there.

If he DOES really leave, I'm completely fine with it. That just means more screentime to the characters that actually deserve it (Kiawe, Lillie, etc.).

Oh but it does make sense. He is useless and will not be missed
