I mean... it was to be expected since its literally in the title...

What I meant was that the whole "protagonist uses Z-move to win" cliché feels very, VERY overused at this point. They could have had, for once, a fight against the villain of the week that was finished, not because of some super, mega, ultra, OHKO enhancement, but because of their natural strength and their strategy. They could have had that and have a title that reflected that (since titles can be changed based on what's in the episode). Just because it was "literally in the title" doesn't excuse the fact that, at this point, Z-moves being used as finishers is overdone, cliché -ic, predictable and lazy. I don't remember Ash-Greninja or Mega Evolution being this overdone and this OP in XY.

It makes some amount of sense because that’s how Ash entered Ultra Ruin/Dia’s world in the first place.

Again they could have done something that makes more sense. Have Rotom bring the professors where Ash disappeared, they bring their equipment with them as well, they scan the area, find some kind of residual Ultra Aura, have Burnet theorize/say something along the lines of "Tapu Koko's Discharge must have been so powerful that it reactivated a dormant Ultra Wormhole" (since they already seem to be happening at random anyways) and, then, have them use their equipment to create a new Ultra Hole through which Ash and Pikachu come back. That way we get a better explanation that "It's Tapu Koko magic. Don't question it.".

It's ironic that the best UB episode had nothing to do with Ultra Guardians. I also find it funny that they had to use a XY song for the scene because none of SM songs are "cool" enough.

Kinda shows how redundant they are.

Which is sad, 'cause I was a casual fan of Power Rangers and I was really hyped when they revealed we would get to see their Pokémon counterparts.
