I really hope we get to see flashbacks of 10-year old Kukui and Guzma on their Island Challenge

That would be great to see, Tupp and Lysandre both had brief flashbacks to explain why they became evil, Guzma should get one, see what he was like before

This episode seems very nice. We finally get much-needed Kukui backstory and Guzma having a personal connection to the students help solve many of the problems anime Team Skull has. And we'll see Golisopod! Hopefully the battle will be fine as well.

It took over 100 episodes for Mallow to mention her mother, so it's no real surprise that Kukui's never brought up his childhood friend

I would have liked to get some buildup for this. Still looking forward to it though.

Maybe they'll play OS Butch & Cassidy to Tupper, Zipp, & Rapp's (even worse than) Jessie, James & Meowth.
