Abereru-Kun was voicing his in anime character during pokenchi last week for SM129, couldn't get some screenshots unfortunately. Ikezaki was voicing Faba's Hypno for SM130. They didn't show that much footage mostly to avoid spoilers.

So in the event that this is them both making it into the top 16, the writers are really on quite the streak for making this league underwhelming. Top 16 and trainers competing in it don’t even have 3 Pokémon meaning they won’t even be 3 v 3. That’s preliminary round level of action there and just shows it was a mistake having the entire class take part if they weren’t gonna develop their teams more.

Because I look at this in two ways.

1. This could be a battle and because of the lack of skill from both "trainers", it won't be a good one.
2. This will be a random ep in the middle of the league and be a waste of time.

There is no reason for Mallow to make it to the top 8, Lana has little reason to make it to the top 8. All a tag battle would do is push them up so the writers can say "Look how strong they are!" without them earning it.

Do you seriously care more about Faba, Ilima and Oak? Compared to the first couple of girls in this franchise who actually advanced in the league?

a. Based on what evidence?
b. Having 6 in the quarter finals will still result in 3 participants for the semis. Even if one of the QF matches then finishes in a tie you end up with a stupid situation of going directly to the final matchup...

Well now that it's confirmed that Mallow and Lana are battling, I think it's safe to say that Lana will win since she's the favorite.

I think it would be very representative for the franchise (and especially for the anime) to have a girl winning the league for the first time. But I really trust Ash's power!
