Oh, Alolan Marowak still exists? It's cute that Gladion is using Lycanroc, but I was kinda hoping he'd give his dad's Zoroark a test run. Oh well.

I like how mad Kaki sounds, just because his little sister is holding hands with another big brother. He's truly a sane person who can protect Alola and his family.

Kiawe used Marowak in his League battle against Acerola.

Image result for that's the joke

I really hope they focus most of the episode on the battle between Kiawe and Gladion, maybe dedicate the first 5 minutes to Mimo and Team Skull as Kiawe and Gladion are two of the more serious battlers in Sun and Moon

What the hell, so Kaki wants to beat Gladio because his sister fell in love with him?

If the writing was even halfway competent, Ash would lose to Guzma so Kukui can fight for his league instead of putting it on the shoulders of a foreigner who doesn't care

No. If Guzma wins the League, he wins it all, even if Kukui beat him in the exhibition. Guzma would be the Champion and he would be able to destroy the Alola League just as he intends, regardless of the result of some exhibition match. It would be a classic case of Kukui winning the battle, but Guzma winning the war.

That makes no sense. If Guzma wins the league, he'll win it in a way that he destroys it. It doesn't matter if he battles Kukui, it's an unofficial exhibition match.

Not to mention that no one even knows the exhibition battler is Kukui.
This too. Only Kukui, his wife, his Pokemon and Torracat know that. So Guzma facing off against the Masked Royale has no payoff.

Guzma probably isn’t foolish enough for the whole "Kukui is totally not Masked Royal" gag.
Considering how no one has shown any indication of knowing who the Masked Royal is (other than Torracat but he's a giant feline Pokemon so...), I'd say it's not a gag. Even in the games, no one except Burnet and the player character know who he is... then again, in the games it's more of an OOC player input thing.

Molayne also knows in both the games and the anime, but that's because he's an old friend of Kukui. In the games, Kukui tries to deny the connection even to him, but in the anime, he doesn't deny this secret from him when they're alone.

Guzma already won the league since it confirmed everything he slammed it for

Ah shit, yeah. Forgot about him. Him too.

Source?

If Guzma actually believed any of the stuff he said about the league and wasn't just doing this out of petty spite towards Kukui, that is.
