This doesn’t make sense. The reveal for the next series is coming after the episode, right? If the episode itself airs before the reveal it’s going to be spoiled anyway. Would they just censor out the title card during the episode?

If anything it’s probably a spoiler relating to the outcome of today’s episode.
Or they could do the reveal before the episode itself? Either can spoil the reveal of the other so it doesn't matter.

It’s still a spoiler even if it happens 20 minutes before. If the title is something like “Satoshi’s Final Batte!” or “Enter NewProtagonist!” or “The Rocket-Dan’s Fiery Finale!” or anything simiarly spoielry it still spoils the reveal happening after the episode.

It’s like if, at E3 2018, the Nintendo Direct was subtitled “featuring every Smash Bros. character ever!”— it would ruin the surprise of the “Everyone is Here!” video. Or if the title of today’s Sun&Moon episode was withheld until the morning and was revealed to be “Birth! The Alola Champion Satoshi!!”

It doesn’t matter if it’s spoiled 2 weeks early or 20 minutes early, it still spoils the surprise.

If they do the reveal before the episode that makes more sense, but it’s still weird that we wouldn’t know the title until the day of airing.

Another reason why they could be withholding the title is that it contains the name of a character or Pokemon in Sword & Shield who is not currently revealed.

Possible, though I feel like the Galar character meeting Ash would be Sonia. She'd fit both the SM art style as well as the upcoming anime's (which looks more like XY's).

I don't think that would be the case because she was already revealed, which would mean that it would make no sense to hide the title.

We're getting the title literally by the end of the week, and I doubt we'll have another swsh trailer this week

I fully expect this episode to be something like "Satoshi vs. Royal Mask! The Exhibition Battle begins!" and that it wasn't revealed in the first round of episode reveals this month for obvious reasons (not like it mattered too much for Oha Suta), but since we haven't had any magazine scans or whatever talking about future episodes, the episode title itself hasn't been revealed yet.
