I also remember when people tried to use the lack of the "Next time... a new beginning!" message in XY as a point towards SM being an alternate universe

I don't know if you realized this but it is because of type wild's lyrics. The last line is "someday i will say hello my dream" and the text says and YOUR dreams.

I really liked 'Next time... a new beginning!' because it could easily fit all iterations and sagas of the series, but I guess change happened simply for the sake of change.
