Gulpin, Stunky, Skrelp, and Clauncher
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are giving players more opportunities to catch certain Version-Exclusive Pokémon this coming weekend with a selection of Mass Outbreaks and 5-star Tera Raids. These events will be available starting Friday January 26th at midnight (UTC), and running through until Sunday January 28th at 11:59pm (UTC).

Mass Outbreaks with Version-Exclusive Pokémon
Gulpin, Stunky, Skrelp, and Clauncher will be appearing throughout Paldea as part of this Mass Outbreak event. Normally version-exclusive, these Pokémon will be appearing in both versions during this event, giving players an opportunity to see and catch Pokémon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to catch without partnering up with players of the other version for a Union Circle. Pokémon encountered in these Mass Outbreaks are more likely to have the Uncommon or Rare Marks, depending on which version of the game they are encountered in.

To participate in these mass outbreak events, players will need to download and install the latest update data; and to download the latest Poké Portal News. If players have connected their Nintendo Switch system to the internet while playing Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, this should happen automatically. Players can also manually download the Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, and then selecting Mystery Gift, and then Check Poké Portal News. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required.

Tera Flutter Mane and Iron Jugilis
Flutter Mane and Iron Jugulis make their way to Tera Raids
The version-exclusive Paradox Pokémon Flutter Mane and Iron Jugulis will be appearing as part of this 5-star Tera Raid Battle event in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Flutter Mane will appear exclusively for players with Pokémon Scarlet, while Iron Jugulis will be appearing exclusively in Pokémon Violet. Flutter Mane and Iron Jugulis will both be able to be encountered in a wide array of Tera Types, including rare Tera Types for both species.

To encounter Flutter Mane and Iron Jugulis in Tera Raid Battles, players will need to first download the latest Poké Portal News. If players have connected their Nintendo Switch system to the internet while playing Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, this will happen automatically. Players can also manually download the Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, and then selecting Mystery Gift, and then Check Poké Portal News. After that, players will be able to start a Tera Raid Battle simply by walking up to and interacting with an appropriate Tera Crystal in-game. In the overworld, the Tera Crystals associated with these raids can be differentiated from other Tera Raid crystals by their aura, which is mostly clearly visible when looking at crystals on the map.

A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online, however players will still be able to challenge these Tera Raid Battles solo (supported by AI), or with other Trainers in local play without a membership.
