In her terror, Clarissa shocked Gracie, not consciously on purpose. It wasn't nearly enough to hurt her, giving about the feeling of a light static shock. She started crying from how scared she was.
OOC: Scratch that, I just have news. Okay, so I was thinking about why our characters feel so tasteless, and then it hit me; They're all too upbeat.
Also, I've got some killer detail to reconcile into the story once the confrontation with the Project begins.
"I don't get it..."
Scorpion was looking around the corner at them from the kitchen, curious as to what was going on after what had happened.
OOC: Good point. Max isn't happy at all, ever, but there hasn't been anywhere so far where he would act, maybe I should start using him more. As for the rest of my characters, I'll do my best to make them not so upbeat.
OOC: What about internal conflict? I know I've said this before, but one must go from Point A to Point B, to fight not just material foes along the way, but to fight emotions, to strengthen their resolve gradually.
Also, remember motives.
Ha, I'm one to talk, but... Hmm...?
"Ah, forget it." Gracie turned away and headed back down the hall, her wings dragging against the walls. "Infernal corridor..." She muttered to herself.
Clarissa waited until Gracie was several feet away before tentatively following.
OOC: Yep. Max still stands as my best example of that, although my more active character who's acting like a not-one-dimensional person would be Scorpion.
I will try to work out character developments for each of my characters to get. I have a few ideas, but it'll be weird because some of their personalities are going to have to change quite a bit to fit their backstories. I'll probably rewrite some personalities and histories in the SU thread.
Gracie attempted to enter a bathroom, but her wings prevented her from turning, as well as managed to put a dozen holes in the rotting wall.
Then she fell right through the wall, splinters and broken pieces of plywood impaling the membrane of each wing, impact with the floor of the room on the other side breaking the fragile limbs, as well as a leg.
Clarissa yelped in shock, then said, "Miss... are y-you okay?"
Scorpion heard the crash and ran over to her. "Gracie!!"
The little girl stepped back at the appearance of another scary merge, though not nearly as terrifying as Gracie, and stared at her, horrified, though Scorpion didn't notice.
Maxwell ignored the ruckus, instead continuing to tend to F-II. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"Yeah. Always nice to see someone with substance."
"Yep. A few weeks, right?"
F-II struggled to nod.
"I have something to tell you, and you alone."
"Which is?"
"You remember Clark?"
"The Audino Merge?"
"Yeah."
"I do. What about h--" Maxwell simply took off his helmet, revealing his face to someone for the first time in years.
"Maxwell..? Y-you're?"
OOC: Nope. I've got a little backstory planned for that.
What might be a possible effect of Gracie's accident that would bring us closer to the post-Project events we briefly discussed?
