You don't obtain the Pokemon you scan, it's just registered into your Pokedex as "seen". Did you really think getting shinies would be that easy?

Though it's worth noting that Z-Crystals now also change Arceus's type, but not Judgement's type.

What do you mean? The whole point of the national dex is to store data of all the pokemon that is not on the regional dex. SM does not have it which is not a good thing.

I think he's talking about the national dex included with Pokebank. Which you need to pay $5 to access.

I still think it's really strange that Sun & Moon don't have a national dex. I'm guessing they really don't want you to try to complete the pokedex in a single game now. I don't think they needed to go so far as to remove the national dex though.

That is ridiculous. The national dex should be on the main series games not the unreliable Poke Bank. I do admit getting the shiny charm from getting all regional is useful however.

It actually makes sense. Would you rather complete the National Dex completely everytime a new game rolls around? Or would you rather complete it once for a new game and just transfer the next new generation's new Pokemon to Bank?

But I want to see data on pokemon like Kyurem and Arceus. It costs too much to keep using pokebank so I rather they didn't use it for national dex.

Each time would be only once a year. Trading between yourself isn't free, because you had to buy a second 3DS which costs way more than just five simple dollars.

you've basically spent the equivalent of 21 years of pokebank in order to trade with yourself.
