Khartium: Capital of the Unitary Empire

Commander Tarkei immediately began barking orders, as seven of the Aridaen gunships roared to life, launching skyward in pursuit of the Arcadian vessel, each unloading two heat-seaking missiles.

Moments later the other eight gunships lifted off, revolving around the landing site, and the dancing Arcadian, as they waited for the Avierian soldiers to clear the site - weapons armed.

"Turn on the FTL Drive!" Scythe yells, watching the missiles through a window.
"On it!" Glaive says, and the ship zooms away to the nearest star system.
"That was a close one...Too bad we couldn't get the parts." Naginata says, having returned to her video game.
--------------------------------------------------------
Gordo finishes his dance, and takes a bow, then sees the soldiers pointing their weapons at him. The elderly Arcadian regards them for a moment, and, grinning, holds out his fist to one for a knuckle bump. Meanwhile, as the ship leaves it's proximity, the demon disappears, not having hurt anyone.

A single officer behind the Avierian ranks pulled out a megaphone and in slow, clear words, made the position of his people quite clear. "Hands up. Now." The Avierians would have prefered to take a hostage-a prisoner, rather then have a new crater in the middle of their city. But, if that was not possible, the empress would understand.

Gordo, though he doesn't understand the words, can tell the Avierians aren't in the mood for breakdancing and other such shenanigans, and obligingly raises his hands, grinning affably.
---------------------------------------------------------
"I hope Gordo's all right." Naginata says, playing two video games at once.
"He was my best friend!" Cleaver sobs, banging his fist on the desk.
"Don't worry." Scythe says. "Gordo's pretty smart. He'll figure something out."

The eight Aridaen gunships continued circling the elderly Arcadian, the other seven returning to join them as they awaited the results of the Avierians' attempts to apprehend the intruder peacefully.

The officer motioned to two men guarding flank. "Cuff-him." Moving quickly, the two soldiers surged fowards towards the invader-aiming to disable him and take him into custody.

Gordo obligingly holds out his arms, still smiling earnestly, his big, baleful red eyes staring earnestly at the guards around him. As they bind his arms, he twists his hands to point to his throat, mouths some words, shakes his head, then holds his index finger to his palm, as if asking for a writing utensil.

En route to Arcadia

"We've gotta save Gordo!" Cleaver says. "Who am I going to have clean the test tubes?!"
"We know. get Glaive to do it." Naginata says, slouched over on the couch, watching the news on the FTLevision.
"We can't fight those guys. They had like twenty ships. We're heading back to Arcadia for reinforcements."
"I'm not going in your lab. I remember what I saw last time. I wish I didn't, but I do." Glaive says, looking back from his seat.
"That was an isolated incident! It won't happen-"
"No. Clean your own test tubes."

One of the soldiers paused and produced a pen-and handed it to the alien, earning him a stare from his commanding officer.

Gordo grins at the guard, but then looks at the pen for a while, shrugs his shoulders, and, for lack of a better surface draws a beautiful picture of a Tsubaki, an Arcadian instrument similar to a ukelele on the back of his hand.

The officer takes one look at the drawing....and promptly facepalms. "Every other alien that comes by us is insane..." He muttered under his breath as his two comrades marched the alien away.

With some trouble, Gordo grins and waves at the guard, pen clutched in his hand.

"So, we need Gordo back." Glaive says.
"Not Gordo!" General Halberd says, smoking 9 cigarettes at once, and preparing another.
"I'll miss Gordo if he's gone..." The king says, sunbathing on the roof of the tower. "He reminded me of my father. He talked a lot, but he was nice."
"Sir, Gordo was mute." Glaive says.
"Oh. Right." The king says.
"I've got a plan! What we need...Is stealth!" Glaive says. "Have Cleaver start research on a cloaking device!"
"Gotcha, sir." Glaive says, shaking. Talking with the general always put him on edge. He had gotten used to the yelling, but was worried he'd accidentally send one of his cigarettes flying into his eye. With news of the orders, Glaive returns to the base. "Yo! Cleaver! Order up!" He says, throwing the scientist the notes, which hit him over the head.
"Consider it done." Cleaver says, looking through the orders.

Satus: International Space Center

On a launch pad at the space center was the Viator I. As it was prepared for launch, cameras sent a live video feed to TV's across the continent. It was declared an international holiday so that everyone could watch this historic event. Heloduro and Basi had managed to cooperate, for once, to create the first spacecraft to travel faster than light. Perhaps a new age of peace had begun.

Viator I was ready to launch. The countdown began. "10...9...8..."

Bellum Cruent sat at his desk looking over some files. On one wall of the room was a large flatscreen TV. It was showing live footage of the Viator I's launch. Cruent sighed. His plans weren't going as smoothly as he had predicted. Basi spies had been watching all of his government's activity. His military had been delayed in its research of converting land-based weapons to be used in spacecraft. Now that Basi had let its guard down and their spies had retreated, the research would begin.

Fortunately for Cruent, his own agents had found valueable information. They had retrieved research papers about the SLD. It seemed his scientists wouldn't have to figure out how to make their own engine. Soon enough, Heloduro would have their own spacecraft, and with it they would conquer the final frontier.

Cruent heard part of the countdown: "7...6...5...4..."

Viator I

"3...2...1" Captain Galea Obstin braced himself as the Viator I shot upwards. Moments later the ship cleared the atmosphere. Now came the hard part. The captain ordered the pilot to prepare the ship for superluminal travel. The captain was somewhat nervous about working with so many people from other countries. The pilot was from Hernan and the copilot came from Kalaman. The navigator was also from Kalaman and the communications specialist was from Hernan. Two Heloduran soldiers had come as well. Even though they had no guns, they were still rather intimidating. The only Basi other than the captain was the computer technician.

The pilot told Obstin that they were ready. As the SLD engine began to start, Obstin closed his eyes and hoped to Valde it worked. The ship sped forward and vanished.

Dr. Libri Erudi had no time to watch the launch. An aide came in to tell him the good news. Dr. Erudi felt relieved for a moment. His Superluminal Drive had worked. Then he remembered he still had a lot of work to do. Now that Viator I had left the system, it was impossible to communicate with them. Dr. Erudi had been told to find a way to make it possible. He went back to working on a complex equation.

At the order of the Prime Minister, the Aridaen gunships immediately departed from the surface of Avi, the disturbance having been dealt with.

Dr. Troane smiled, looking up through the thick glass into the wooded enclosure - the synthetic Ardoraith clone had been growing at a phenomenal rate, to the surprise and delight of the research team. The creature could just barely be seen, coiled in the top of a small tree about fifty feet in, in a shadowy portion of the enclosure, its knowing eyes staring back intently at Dr. Troane.

Seira returned to the doors of the Olustar, squinting in the Avierian sunlight as she looked out toward the soldiers, silently inquiring as to the reason for the delay. Why hadn't they been given clearance to exit the vessel yet?

"Artexa," Prime Minister Arkalex said, turning to face her as she re-entered the throne-room, "Please initiate contact with Florasia, I wish to speak with Florose."

"As you wish, sir," Artexa replied curtly, as she crossed the room to the monitor and requested contact with Florasia.

Florose appeared on the monitor, her petals still gone. "Hello, Prime Minister, how are you doing?" she asked. "Did all go well?"

"Yes," Arkalex replied in the most diplomatic tone he could muster after the immensely stressful week he had thus far endured, "I merely wanted to touch base with you as to the state of our alliance, are all things well on Florasia?"

"Fairly well, though the possibility of war is weighing heavy." said Florose. "But we're also somewhat worried for our ambassador aboard your ship."

"Well, I would like to clarify that the order to dock on Avi did not originate with me," Arkalex said, raising an eyebrow toward Artexa, who returned the look sheepishly, "However, it is my understanding that your ambassador was not an intended member of the Olustar's crew. He boarded unannounced and without clearance, following the crew aboard minutes before the launch."

"We recieved word the craft was heading to Florasia and was going to bring him home, it arrived in our system then suddenly left." explained Florose, showing the message she'd recieved. "We were not informed of where the ship went at the time."
