I saw somewhere, it may have been here and if so all credit to the person, that Scorbunny should have been named Hoppenaro. While I would have loved that for Scorbunny, it sounds like an awesome name for one of its evolutions as well.

Well, thanks to Pikachu, electric is technically a starter type too, which brings the topic of everyone thinking it will be Fire/Electric.

Nah, Electric still has a chance. The ones I don't think they will repeat are the other two types.

We have no electric starter in this game so electric isn’t starter type for a majority of the games.

Pikachu was a single, exceptional case due to being the series mascot.

Who will always be a key part of the franchise' marketing. As such, there's no reason to create any overlap with it. Besides there is already the region's Pikaclone.

Kidding aside, I do think Fire/Steel is a possible combo.

I think that Gorilla leak is also most likely fake, since in my mind it doesn't make sense to give it a baseball bat instead of a cricketbat since the region is UK.

You just argued that a starter will never be electric to prevent overlap with Pikachu, and immediately later referenced the Pokémon GameFreak specifically makes to overlap with Pikachu.
The Pikaclones show that they’re not hesitant to create more Electric types to market alongside Pikachu.

Anyways the overlap will be minimal at best since fully evolved starters are featured less than their base stages, and the base stages are promoted with Pikachu more.
Scorbunny3 will be much, much larger than Pikachu, too. Pikachu goes for cute when featured alongside starters and Scorbunny3 will undoubtably go for 'cool' if it’s electric.

I hope they give Scorbunny an Electric secondary type with a Grass move (Grass knot if special and Trop Kick if physical) to deal with the double ground weakness.

Which is my point. They already have a staple that will be at least part electric, there is no need for even more electric types.
