Okay this has been bugging me ever since the Oreburgh gym, but why is Ash now starting to copy Dawn's(and more recently Zoey's) techniques into his battles and isn't chastied for doing so, yet wasn't May critized for doing the same thing throughout AG? So why is it that Ash can get away with doing it? Shouldn't he use his own methods to win battles and not rely upon others? Or are the writers proving thier hypocrisy once again?

Gym battles aren't about art or style, it's about who wins. So learning techniques from other trainers is not only okay, but expected. It's plug and chug to see what works.

Contests are about art and style and I guess it's considered unbecoming to copy someone else's style.
