Bulbapedia Suggestions, ideas, and problems

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Because they are difficult to animate properly. A fine example of that is on Bulbasaur's page.

Oh dear... why does that happen, but not on Trainer and pre-4th Gen Sprites?

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Each Pokemon has predetermined Pokethlon stats. Will you put it in their pages?

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

If it's by species, yes, we'll do that as soon as we can get the data from the games.

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

There are some problems with the List of Pokémon by Animé Debut section.

Gligar is one of the few Pokemon that's got some wrong Data. It says it first appeared in Episode 224, while it actually appeared in episode 138. It never even appeared in 224!
Another problem is with Mantine and Delibird, where it shows Delibirds mini sprite where Mantines is supposed to be, and Delibird it's even on the list.

Those are the only problems I've seen so far.

Bulbapedia Mobile Version

Hey guys, i have a request / suggestion for you. Many people are using internet on their mobile phones, so why don't we (you) launch a mobile version of bulbapedia just like mobile.wikipedia.com . What do you think?

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

We'll be working on something like that when we get the chance to. Considering Wikipedia's an incorporated non-for-profit thingy, and we're, well, a fansite... they've got a hell of a lot more of a chance to throw their weight forward into the mobile sphere than we do.

Thanks. I will be waiting for that.:7up:

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

I attempted to do something like that for Bulbanews, but it failed; here.

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Are you sure there isn't a MediaWiki mobile plugin?

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

There is an error in the "leveling up" of the Togepi's article. It says that Togepi is born knowing Extrasensory in the HG/SS, but it actually learns Extrasensory only when a Togetic/Togekiss female is crossed with a Hoohoot/Noctowl male who knows Extrasensory . Togepi that we receive in Pokémon Mart was the result of a breed between a Togetic/Togekiss with a Hoothoot/Noctowl who knows Extrasensory.

OBS.: Togepi learns Extrasensory by breeding only in HG/SS.

Has anyone ever considered doing a Pokémon Taxonomy project?

I realize that absolutely everything in such a project would be pure fanon terminology, but that's what the "Appendix:" namespace is for, right?

Plus, if Glitch Pokémon were included, it would provide a sort of way to keep them segregated from the official Pokémon without segregating them from the Pokémon race as a whole. So, both the glitch fans and the officialists* would have their way.

*No, I'm not sure that's a word. But it gets the idea across, yes?

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Hey,

I felt disappointed in Bulbapedia today, for the first time. I love Bulbapedia, I think this website is great. Today though, Bulbapedia did something completely unethical. Bulbapedia, a website CLEARLY marketed towards a younger generation, is now displaying banners for cigarettes on almost every page. Not just cigarettes, "healthier" cancer-causing sticks. Way to go bublapedia, advertising cigarettes to a young generation. I have loved this site, but I am never coming back, unless these horribly marketed adds are taken away.

A concerned ex-bulbapedia fan

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Bad ads do tend to sneak in...all you have to do is report it to us and we can get it removed.

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Uhm.. dude there is a way to do that and that is not it...

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Not only that, but if you actually were to register with Bulbapedia, you wouldn't see ads.

Re: Official Bulbapedia suggestion/idea/problem thread

Here's a good question... if you're never coming back, how will you know if the ads are gone or not?

Also, yeah, we kinda don't see the ads on a daily basis considering most of us are logged in all the time. Now, further details are needed if you want us to be able to kill these ads: what page, which adspace, and what company?
