Sun and Moon Anime- 138 episodes?

Heck, part of me can't even believe they're bothering with a League since they've mucked up the Island Trials and there's barely any battling, let alone good battles, in this saga...

This isn't going to be a League. It's going to be a formality. (a poorly done one if they don't REALLY turn things around).

If Gen 8 were to get delayed to late 2020, then Sun & Moon would be extended to last that long.

I sure hope not
This saga already favors slice of life fillers--not even good slices at that--over a plot or story without making them do it for a 4th year.
Heck, they could resort to a Orange Islands/DA filler arc and I'd have trouble telling the difference between how that'd be much different from how they're doing things now...:cautious:

You mean like the Kalos League? The writers didn't give two craps about that. It was an afterthought, seeing how they rushed through it to get to the Team Flare finale.

It'll be hard to be worse than Kalos League ended up being

Yeah, kind of.
At least we had the Flare finale to make up for the Legaue. Or at least I really liked it. Heck, I was more interested in/looking forward to Team Flare thane the League from the start. And heck, I think I'm the only person satisfied with how the Kalos League went. Oh sure, the first 2 episodes sucked, but after that it was pretty good. Besides, I NEVER thought for a second Ash would win. :p

As I said, Alola has little battling to begin with and few rivals. Unless they turn things around big time in 2019 (and what's left this year), it really won't be much a of a League...:cautious:

SM103 - December 30, 2018

I don't see them *not* taking a break for New Year's.

SM130 - July 7, 2019
SM131 - July 14, 2019
SM132 - July 21, 2019
SM133 - July 28, 2019

I'm guessing Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution will come out July 12th, so I can see TV-Tokyo taking the 7th off to air Everyone's Story. And then no new episode on the 14th.

Why would they take a two-week break on July? Last September's was enough, and there's bound to be one between the SM finale and the next series' premiere.

Gag returns, but without full episode number.

C-087 could be a reference to TM87, Swagger, one of Tsareena's primary moves.

I'm not sure if I could see SM ending that early in October. It really depends on when the new generation games come out. An October release wouldn't be out of the question and there could be a week or two break between the end of SM and the start of a new series as well. However, I think a November release would be more likely given that has been when most of the main series titles have been released lately and early Christmas shoppers would help to boost the sales even more. I could see SM lasting until late October or early November with that in mind.

People are forgetting about the 1-Hour specials which they do and the 2 Specials at the end, I have a feeling SM is gonna last longer than BW and XY if it runs till November, it'll at least last 145-150 Episodes, If we don't get the Gen 8 Game announced this month and its announced it late February which mostly means it'll release in mid-November just like Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon so let's see.

New Games Release on November 15, 2019 ( The 15th of November is a Friday, games are released on Fridays )
November 17, 2019 - New Anime Series Starts

Those are my predictions, it may end one week earlier if they throw another One-Hour Special in there ( Never Trust TV Tokyo )...

They take one-week breaks when they air two-parter specials. There is also other breaks.

138 episodes for SM seems likely to me. The amount of episodes per series has been decreasing by 2 since Best Wishes, which counts 142 episodes. XY counts 140 and now that SM follows up after XY and has teased us twice with the magical number 138, I think it will count 138 episodes.

Based on recent air dates:

SM116 - April 7, 2019
SM117 - April 14, 2019
SM118 - April 21, 2019
SM119 - April 28, 2019

SM127 - June 23, 2019
SM128 - June 30, 2019
SM129 - July 7, 2019
SM130 - July 14, 2019
SM131 - July 21, 2019
SM132 - July 28, 2019

If we get the same amount of breaks as XY, then:

SM138 - October 13, 2019

And then we'll get the new games and the anime in late october/early november.

I could see that happening probably around the week of the 10th for November is more than likely.

They may not have wanted to set a specific month for the release in case there are some issues with the development. I just wouldn't take the Winter 2019 information on the Japanese site as one hundred percent confirmation that the games are going to be released then. December would seem pretty late for a release date, but I'm also just used to the October or November time frame for main series games. If the games are going to be released in December, then they'll definitely have to make SM last a few months longer.

Or we could get a record breaking break between series...<__<
