You assume right, Alolan Forms and other forms don't count. Only new Pokémon that get their own number in the National Dex.

Given the new Alolan Pokemon, and most likely Megas as well, I'm anticipating that the total number of new Pokemon won't be too big. However, I do think it will be larger than what Kalos gave us. So let's say 85.

My guess is more than X/Y, but less than the new Pokemon we got from B/W. Final answer is 126, not including Alolan variants.
