Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Perhaps, but there’s other characters like Duck Hunt and Wii Fit trainer who can be considered that too. Remember Sakurai wants to introduce new styles of fighting with the new characters, Perhaps that’s why Pirahna Plant was introduced.
They are the main things from their respective games, not a background element, although I can see it choosing it just to see how it would fight.

All this toxic salt isn't anything new. Remember the Miiverse posts, particularly Goku (who technically did get in Smash :p)?

Besides "spamming" character requests didn't stop Sakurai from including Ridley.

No, there's a Spirit named "Goku & Chao".

I recall an image flying around complaining about DQ Hero being in, arguing that Geno is from a more popular game (more than the most influential JPRG) and is very important in said game (compared to the actual protagonist of the most influential JRPG).

Smash fanbase can be silly.

Whoever wrote "Journey to the West" must be rolling in their grave after seeing how a space alien replaced his character in the eyes of pop culture. Specially after reading a MvC2 FAQ that said that Sonson was plagiarized from Dragon Ball.
I imagine in Asia where Journey to the West is better known Sun Wukong is at least as well known as Dragon Ball's Goku.

As a crossover, its not Smash that has a silly fanbase (aside from which game is better), but specific parts of it of regarding the content that got in, didn't get in, and the content people want in such as Goku and Geno.

What was the name of that thing? "Creator Provincialism"? Where they believe that just because they or the people they know don't know about it, then it's not influencial?

True. It could have also helped that the times the adaptations made it out of Asia kept the original names instead of replacing them. Then again, one was in the 80's and the other in the 90's, so the chances of them keeping the names were low.

Do you think that Dracovish will become a playable character because it has become a popular Pokémon ever used in competitive? Why?

The starters have a higher chance of getting in over Dracovish. And why Dracovish of all gen VIII 'mons anyway? I don't think Sakurai really cares that much what Pokémon is commonly used in competitive.

I'm hoping for more playable Pokemon in the future DLC. It bugs me how only starters or popular Pokemon (either with the fans or Game Freak) can make the roster.

Sadly, thanks to the high amount of Pokémon there are and how frequent the games release, those are the things we have to expect, unless Sakurai decides to pull a Piranha Plant here and choose someone unexpected.

Okay, I unironically would enjoy that and would greatly prefer that over Rillaboom, but at the same time it's highly doubtful that Dracovish, Ensemble Darkhorse to both competitive fans and casual fans as it may be, would really be 'qualified' as a fighter.

Been playing Byleth for a couple of minutes recently after the update, really love male!Byleth's Dimitri and Claude alt colors even more. Also Garreg Mach is now my new favorite stage, though I'm still sad Felix, Sylvain, Linhardt, Ferdinand, and Hubert aren't background characters, but finally seeing Lorenz and Hilda on the bridge to the cathedral made me happy. Tonight I'll play some more and maybe use fem!Byleth, it's so satisfying to finally play them.

Been playing Byleth as well, and there attacks hit really hard. Amyr in particular is really strong- I’ve Koed Bayonetta around 50%. Of course, Byleth is slow, and their attacks have a lot of lag, so this can be easily exploited by fast characters.

Also really enjoying the selection of songs, especially 3 Houses theme remix. I’ve also successfully managed obtain all the 3 Houses spirits already.

Felix and Sylvain are my faves, so naturally I'm super biased and disappointed that they aren't background characters lol. But other than that it's a great stage with a great music selection, and Byleth is also really fun to use!

I know which downloadable player character that Masahiro Sakurai will include for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass, Vol. 2 instead of Dracovish. Maybe Inteleon might be a best that he will include for that pack. Do you think?

I mean it's possible they'll add a SWSH starter, but we'll have to wait and see if they decide to add a new Pokémon fighter for the second pass.

That new fighting type legendary pokemon that's to be included in the upcoming DLC would probably be the most interesting choice imho.. Have alternate costumes with the two distinct styles it can use or just have it switch between the two forms by a command similar to Shulk's neutral B could be a nice gimmick to play with..
