“That was our doctor.” A dark coloured hedgehog said as he stared at the form laying motionless on the ground in front of him, a knife sticking out of the form. There was a yellow mouse with red cheeks and a detective’s cap standing over the form. Detective Pikachu turned and flashed Shadow the Hedgehog a sly grin as red text started to pour from his victim’s body. The text read “GAME OVER”, and another witness - Gabumon - gasped.
The video game characters had been involved in a competition of the franchises, and the informed minority… Detective Pikachu, Motley Bossblob, Island Kahuna Nanu, and Gym Leader Sabrina… had won this contest of wits.
While the defeated video game characters started to reappear, Gabumon made his way over to Detective Pikachu and stuck his hand out. “You fought well.” Gabumon said. “Congratulations on your win.”
Pikachu turned and took Gabumon’s hand, shaking it. “As did you.” He agreed. The two video game monsters turned to look out over the city as the sun was rising.
“It’s the dawn of a new day.” Link, from the video game franchise ‘Zelda’, said as he walked up behind them.
Pikachu smiled slightly. “I guess it’s time we return to our franchises. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are coming out soon, and I need to be there.”
Gabumon nodded as he stared off at the sun. “You think we’ll meet again?”
Pikachu smiled, knowingly. “Count on it.”
As they spoke, what looked like a vortex opened up above Video Game Metropolis.
“Looks like it’s time to go.” Pikachu said as he looked up at it.
“Wait, something’s not right.” Master Chief said as he looked up, reaching for his rifle.
Indeed, something was not right. This vortex wasn’t the calm blue transportation portal that had brought them to Video Game Metropolis. It was an angry red and black, and it was swirling like crazy. Electrical sparks danced around it’s event horizon.
“I have a bad feeling about this.” Sabrina said.
It was too late, however, and the vortex started to suck buildings and characters into the sky. Characters from various franchises were being sucked up. Pikachu could swear he just saw Mario go flying past, and into the vortex.
It wasn’t long before the characters that had been involved in the battle of wits were being sucked up too. One by one, they were thrown into the air, and disappearing into the Vortex, until there was nothing left in Video Game Metropolis. Not even the microtransactions survived.
Meanwhile, on the planet Earth.
Flying off into the sunset was a Quinnjet. Not just any Quinnjet, this jet was piloted by the rogue superhero, Captain America, in his quest to save the world… even if it doesn’t meet with government approval.
“It’s not over.” Tony Stark said, as Natalia Romanova and Tommy Oliver… Black Widow and the Black Dino Thunder Ranger… walked up behind him.
“I’m sure Cap has good reasons for going rogue.” the former archaeology professor, Tommy Oliver, offered… but he got no reply from Tony.
Instead, Tony turned and walked over to the remaining members of Steve Roger’s team, or one in particular. “I am very disappointed in you.” He said to the boy in front of him.
“Mister Stark-” Peter Parker began, but Iron Man held up his hand to cut him off and turned to Thor. “And you. I expected better from the god of thunder.”
“Tony, We had no choice.” Wanda Maximoff said as she walked up behind the angry and emotionally hurt Iron Man. “You were trying to stop us from doing the right thing.”
“We were trying to stop you from doing it illegally.” Eric Myers said as he walked over, settling the Silver Guardians cap back on his head. The Quantum Ranger shook his head.
“What’s done is done.” Iron Man said. “And there will be consequences.”
“You may want to postpone that…” Peter Quill said, as he looked at the sky. The others followed the gaze of Starlord, and saw dark clouds forming over the sky. They weren’t rain or storm clouds, they weren’t snow clouds. They were….
“Magma?” Adam Jensen asked. Indeed, the entire sky looked like a dark red and black lava field, and there was flowing lava running throughout the molten rocks.

In an unspecified location in the Atlantic ocean, Captain America’s quinnjet was approaching what appeared to be a huge twister in the water. As he approached through, Steve Rogers could see that it was energy, and not water. And it was dark. The entire energy spout was dark purple or black.
“You’re certain it’s down there?” A voice asked from behind Steve.
Steve half jumped. “Don’t do that.” He complained.
“Do what?” The gruff voice asked as Captain America turned to face the small yellow creature that was standing in front of him. The creature was wearing a hat, and had long pointy eyes, with a jagged tail, almost like a lightning bolt.
“Sneak up on people.” Captain America said. “Something is down there, It’s giving off too much energy to be a coincidence.”
“Don’t worry about it, you can leave it to Detective Pikachu.” The creature said as he turned towards the rare hatch.
“That’s what I was afraid you’d say.” Steve replied.
As Pikachu climbed slowly down the long cable hanging from the hovering jet, he grumbled to himself. “Making the smallest one do the dangerous work.” He muttered.
“Hey, you volunteered.” Steve Rogers said. “And besides, do you want to try and fly this thing?”
“Not really.” Pikachu said. “But it’d probably be better than being thrashed by these cold winds.”
The video game character looked down towards the vortex then back to the sky as something caught his eye. Dark clouds, red and black, started to appear all over the sky. And descending through them was what appeared to be an armada of spaceships. Ten… Twenty… A hundred! More even. “Uh… Cap….” Pikachu said.
“I see them.” Captain America said. “It’s too dangerous, I’m going to pull you back up.”
“Be quick about it!” Pikachu said, as he felt the cable start to retract back into the jet. His eyes widened with horror as he watched the spaceships heading towards their location. Green laser blasts flashed past the quinjet as Rogers finally pulled Pikachu inside.
“I don’t think we should stick around…” Pikachu said as the ramp closed.
“I wasn’t planning to.” Steve Rogers turned and jumped into the pilot seat. He took one last look at the vortex, then gunned the engines.
Back in California, the United States, and one city was having a battle of its own. A giant monster faced off against a giant robot, also known as a megazord. The megazord had gained the upper hand and it raised its sword, which started to glow, before bringing it down on the monster, destroying him in an explosion.
“Now that’s how you do that.” The Red Ranger said in the cockpit.
“What’s that?” The blue ranger asked as he pointed to the sky. The sky had turned to a lava field, and hundreds of spaceships were descending from the sky.
“Oh I have a bad feeling about this.” The pink ranger complained as the spaceships opened fire on the megazord. Sparks flew everywhere as the megazord was forced to step backwards time and time again, before eventually being forcibly disassembled.. The 5 multicoloured superheroes being thrown to the ground.
“It’s began.” A hooded figure wearing a robe said as he watched the events. “Earth doesn’t have much time left.”
“You’re certain it’s down there?” A voice asked from behind Steve.

RNG choosing is still in effect, and heroes will be chosen from the entire pool of submitted heroes… same goes for villains… randomly.
You can submit heroes or villains from video games (in accordance with VGBs rules) or superhero genre (in accordance with SHBs rules).
All submissions must be done via the forum PM system. Submissions via discord are not valid.
The NPC mechanic returns.
1. Forum Rules and War Room Rules always apply.
2. Day phases will last 48 hours and Night phases will last 24 hours, unless phases get shortened as discussed in rule 9. Votes and actions will be locked as soon as the deadline for each phase passes. Votes/actions at :59 count, those at :00 don't. If the host(s) are sure that they won't be able to update, they may extend the phase in question straight from the beginning.
3. Please be active. You may be subbed out if you haven't made a game-relevant action for 72 hours. If no sub is available to take your place, or you keep not performing game-relevant actions for the next 72 hours, you may be modkilled. The aforementioned deadlines may be shortened on the host(s)' discretion, in case where waiting for that long would disrupt game integrity too much.
4. No quoting or screenshots of any conversation with the host. This includes exact wincon wording and posting fake data that supposedly comes from said sources.
4a. Name claiming depends on the game, but if the opening post does not mention it, assume that name claiming is not allowed.
If Nameclaim isn't allowed, this includes no soft claiming, and no discussion of your character. Do not hint at who your character is, their role in the flavour text, or what your character is likely to say. Please see This post for more information.
5. If you change your username mid-game, please state your old and new ones in-thread and mention the host(s).
6. To vote, use the following format: "VOTE: <PLAYER>". To unvote, use "UNVOTE: <PLAYER>". A tie in the plurality of votes will result in No Lynch.
