THANK YOU!!! My point exactly! I have Sapphire, but I hate playing on a fossil! When you've been playing on a DS for a while, you don't want to go back to an old GBA.

If the GBA is a "fossil", you're spoiled, and I don't necessarily mean in the "heaps of money and stuff" way. If you want to play a GBA game, play on the fricking GBA, or DS if you have that. If I were to play a PS1 game, I would expect playing it on a PS1, it doesn't matter if the game is good.

I personally don't think that the reveal will be Keldeo I mean Gamefreak wouldn't make so much hype for something that they know there fans exist but that's my opinion

Well, only Keldeo is very unlikely at best, but I could see them revealing a new game and reveal Keldeo as well.

Okaaaayy........ So maybe I was a little harsh calling the GBA a "Fossil"..... I still like my GBA games, but I just prefer my DS to my GBA.

I heard that B-W have 3D capabilities when played on the 3DS, I just don't remember where I heard it from.

Nah, this was proven to be false.

Nintendo still intends to take care of its DS owners, yet at the same time we know that they will have to move onto the newer 3DS platform. Thats why releasing Grey on the DS and ending gen 5 on it, and then afterwards releasing gen 6 on the 3DS is such a good idea because it allows them to accomplish both.

Remakes shouldn't have first priority. If Hoenn games are to be remade I'd rather they do it in gen 6. If they don't intend to remake them and people don't want to play them on the old GBA then hopefully they will release the Hoenn games on the Virtual Console on the 3DS.

It makes no sense to end gen 5 on the DS, the DS is old tech. With the 3DS, they can add more new features which the DS can't.

They ARE NOT going tpo put them on the VC NO pokemon games have been announced on the VC period and they are on GBA games no. So yeah don't see a main game on it. if they HAVE to put a pokemon game on they will probibly do Pinball Pokemon Puzzle Leauge or maybe RRT...

It will make sense to end Generation V on the DS. As Masuda said, he wanted to release 2 titles on the DS, which are obviously Generation IV and Generation V. As El_ said, they also want to take care of the DS owners, so releasing Pokemon Gray on the 3DS will be a bad marketing strategy since most people still didn't have a 3DS and, if they will want one, they may be financially insufficient to buy one, and more people have a DS than a 3DS at this point, so it's better to release Pokemon Gray on the DS and end it there and start Generation VI on the 3DS so it will be a fresh start to the series.

I can assure you that all those people who don't own a 3DS, most of them will start saving for one when they see a main series Pokemon game is coming out for it. That is what a lot of people did with DS including me.

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, Mario vs Donkey Kong and five other titles are being made available before the end of the year. All Gameboy Advance games.

Also with that logic, no main-series Pokémon 3DS games have been announced, so there will be no main series games on the 3DS. See that sounds silly doesn't it? Before saying what apparently will or will not happen, it's best to just sit down and enjoy the ride and see what happens, as right now, we can't say with certainty that VC ports of Pokémon titles will happen or not - the VC is still in its early days.

Anyways...I'm hoping this isn't a game announcement. If anything because I want there to be something that we're not expecting - give me a RéBurst anime or something!

I meant that they are on GBA games now and no Pokemon games announced period not even Red so the chances of R.S being put on the VC are extremly slim. And I don't know if it will be on the DS or 3DS doesn;t matter to me I have both. But it makes little sense for a side game to be on the 3DS but not a Main game? They;ve been working on a 3DS kit since 09 right?

To me, it seems as if they are going to throw a curveball at us for this one. This is the FIRST TIME they have attended Jump Festa. they havent used that platform to announce any sort of main game before, so i don't believe they would attend it for the purpose of announcing a new main game now. i expect something new coming from them; i believe this is the first time they are attending Jump Festa for a reason

The game may be announced a few days beforehand, with the event being used to promote it. If they really are going to release a main series game this Spring, then they need to make up for the lack of a Pokémon Festa event commemorating the occasion.

I'm sincerely hoping for any new game at all. I REALLY want move tutors so i can finally have access to move tutor moves without sacrificing DW abilities or having to rebreed + transfer for the right nature/movepool.

So how likely is it that this announcement has to do with a new main series game?

My bet is still not likely. As much as people like to say "they can break patterns whenever they want", the patterns do exist for a reason, because that's what they have been doing so it's rational to expect them to continue with it. Combined with the fact that there's no MD or Ranger or console game related to the fifth Generation, they have so many spin-off options that it's much more likely they'll go with that as an announcement over a main game, breaking every pattern they've set so far.

Remember that they called the Mewtwo event announcement something similar to "shocking" in the previews as well. :x

It's difficult to tell because of the nature of Jump Festa and the fact that The Pokémon Company are making the appearance. If it was Nintendo or Game Freak we'd most likely be able to outright say it's a game, but The Pokémon Company handles the entire franchise.

If we look at patterns, December is the month where a new Pokémon movie is first teased. However, TPC have often used shows like Oha Suta to do that. So there has to be something more than that. Maybe Keldeo's reveal? That would most certainly stretch across the entire franchise - game download, movie, merchandise etc. We could also get something unexpected, like the RéBurst anime I'm dreaming about xD

Why on earth would we get a ReBurst anime!?
Why wouldn't we? The Pokémon Company were obviously aiming for a different target audience with the manga (and before anyone says it - no, I don't mean more mature. A different age range) and if the volume releases have sold well (I wouldn't know) then it would make sense to capitalise on that. Obviously, it's still rather unlikely, but thinking about the possibility of one (or even an OVA) is a breath of fresh air compared to the "Zomg Grey!" or "Ruby/Sapphire remakes!" cries that happen all.the.time.

Re: Surprise announcement to be revealed at Jump Festa: Subject matter currently unkn

So how likely is it that this announcement has to do with a new main series game?

Not really likely. Just like what Joshawott said, it's The Pokemon Company that will be attending the Jump Festa, so there are many possibilities since they cover almost all regarding Pokemon: games, Pokemon, merchandise, TCG, movie, etc., but since a new game will be released on Spring, a game is more likely than the rest, only we don't know if it's a main series game or a spin-off game. Reveal of the 15th movie and Keldeo is another possibility, although the former were usually announced on programs like Oha Suta. Just like what Silktree said, the said game may be revealed prior to Jump Festa and the said event being used to promote it and making another announcement instead.

Regarding the "pattern" people were arguing about, Game Freak can always release a game on what date they want. No, they don't have a contract with somebody with an agreement that they will always release a game on September-November. They can always release a game if they feel it's the right time if they managed to finish a new game. They'd already proved it with R/G and FR/LG. My opinion is just the fandom were just used to the main series games being released on Fall in Japan so this so-called "pattern" was created.

Regarding the new game possibly being a spin-off game, it would indeed make sense if they will release a MD or Ranger game, but they already released 3 straight spin-off games (4 if we will include the TCG game on the DS) that it will be good if they will release a main series game next, although I'm not removing the possibilty of the new game being a spin-off game.

My Own Reply: In my opinion, with a Gray-colored Kyurem figure merchandise being officially released (as well as TPC officially revealing the relation of Kyurem and the color Gray), Promoting Kyurem heavily in merchandises, TCGs, etc., the new National Pokedex guidebook which is said to contain the Hidden/Dream World abilities of almost all the Generation V Pokemon, and the upcoming calendar of TPC which starts on March 2012, the next Pokemon game that will be released in spring is the third version of Pokemon Black and White, which is Pokemon Gray. I do hope that it will be announced on December along with the reveal of Keldeo and the game at Jump Festa. :)

That... would be wonderful. I could seriously use something like that. (No, Golett isn't taking over my life. Really. I'm fine. :twitch:) Or maybe something on the Pokemon game for Wii U...

But knowing my luck, it'll be something small. Whatevs.
