A thread to Speculate about Characters or teams in Sword and Shield. How they may play into the plot of the story ect.
To start off, unknown characters in Pokemon Masters has been revealed and I wonder if they are one of the evil teams in Sword and Shield. Maybe their theme is card suits like playing cards. What do you think?

Playing cards it seems is their motif, or possibly gambling in general. Among other things, I think we'll wind up with a secret group of villains working from behind the scenes.

These people could be bouncers for a casino that suspect the player of attempting to either steal from them or otherwise ruin their business, while in reality they're being set up against you by a conspiracy, possibly in reference to the Gunpowder plot.

It debunks the second half of the leak (which said the main villains would be football hooligans) pretty well though.

I think they are probably characters exclusive to Masters, and nothing to do with SwSh.
After all, they're shown in the trailer in a malevolent light, and there's clearly some vague plot to Masters. Fire Emblem Heroes - another crossover game by DeNA, includes original characters - particularly original villains.

Ohhh yess, I always love talking about characters (probably because I'm a writer and character development is one of my favorite things to work on/I can't stop developing characters and actually need to work on other parts of my writing).

Looking at these unknown characters from Masters, I truly don't know if they will be in Sword and Shield or not. I think I can see them in there, but I don't think they will be the main villains. I think they might be some side villains, or maybe only come in around the very end of the game, if they are included at all. They definitely have some sort of cards/gambling theme going on with them though, which I really like. Then again, there is another part of me that thinks they will just remain exclusive to Masters.

I wonder what Sonia's other goals are. On Professor Magnolia's page on the SwSh website, it mentions that she has given a certain task to Sonia, while the Direct mentioned she is studying Dynamax Pokemon. I wonder if they are just referring to this, or if she has another sort of research task or something else.

I am also super interested to see more about Leon. While I don't know if I can really take him for a villain, which has been speculated a lot, I can totally see something big happening with him in the game. This is namely because they revealed him so early on. Also just something about his character really gives off the idea that he is going to have a bigger part in the story.

Ok guys, hear me out on this one.

Bea is a Maylene recolor.

Thank you :3
Ehhh idk about that. Bea looks a lot more serious and muscular. It stands to reason that as young female fighting type users they would have similar physiques, but it looks like their personalities will be much different.

True. She gives off a much more mature and serious vibe, whereas Maylene always felt more attuned to Korrina with the whole "Imma train till I am qualified!" sort of feel. Good call!

I'm calling it here. While Leon did give off some evil like vibes in the beginning, I think he is relatively safe. Chairman Rose and especially Oleana on the other hand. Those two are straight up evil looking. Nothing sits right with me about them. I think I could totally see them using Leon as a pawn for trying to get evil stuff done though.

I think something terrible is going to happen to Leon that will prevent him from even being fought during the game until afterwards.

So I'm calling it now. The reason Leon has never been defeated is cause Chairman Rose has been rigging his matches since he first endorsed him. And Leon's overall charisma is what makes him so popular but probably isn't that much stronger than any other trainer.
If this is true, then the LEAGUE might be the villains of these games, and either Rose or Oleana is the final boss. It would be pretty amazing if there's an Elite Four that's personally hired by Rose to keep an eye on Leon.

I can also see Sonia requesting the player character to stop the League's schemes and save Leon, maybe tag in on invading the League. We might be able to get personal information about him from her since they were childhood friends.

I know GF doesn't really do hidden twists, and Rose and Oleana do look moderately suspicious, but wouldn't it potentially be too obvious? I mean, I do definitely like the idea, but I'm not gonna put my money on it...

On a sidenote, am I the only one who dislikes Oleana's design? Her face is a mood, for sure, but that outfit? She looks like an office worker moonlighting as a dominatrix who stumbled into a cocktail party

We're talking about the creators and the marketing team behind Aether Foundation here...
