Ah, for a moment I thought we were going to have an intense philosophical debate.

I am rather fatigued myself.

Tell me, Requiem, is the current tragedy within the U.S. is what the Mayans are predicting for 2012?

We can have one tomorrow. I need to go to bed

All right, that is a fair agreement.

No need for debating when both sides are already worn out.
Tell me, Requiem, is the current tragedy within the U.S. is what the Mayans are predicting for 2012?

Ah, this is a interesting topic for you to ask my perception on.

But may I ask why you are inquiring for my opinion on the matter?

Because ideas are your main thing of course.

That is very well then.

I will assume you are talking about the rumors and myths that are going around about the world ending in 2012.

It is all a matter of perception. Now I am not ignorant to the fact that things are becoming corrupted and words such as "censorship" and "detainment" used to be unknown amongst most commoners and are now said with fear. However, we have always played around with the idea of the world ending and this is nothing new, just old fears being dusted off and made to look new. To make 2012 special or different, we just have to believe it is special. There is no secret prophecy that is unraveling, because a year is merely a symbol. The sheer amount of people believing in that symbol is what gives it power. We give 2012 its power to scare people by believing that the world will end on that year.

Like God, I do not play with dice. I do not believe in coincidences. The world is what we shape. We cannot blame the world for being horrible, for we shape it that way. I know we were scared but we are the ones who give dictators their power, and if we give the wrong people power, it is our fault. But remember, it is always darkest before the dawn. Empires fall and rise all the time. The world will not end merely because the SOPA and NDAA bill passing or other stuff that fear mongers use to spread hate.

If the human race decides to end itself, it will not be because of a Mayan's simplistic perception of time. Some may be more accountable than others but if you want to know whose fault it would be, all you need is to look in a mirror. We all have a chance everyday to shape the world around us in a positive or negative way. If we decide to nuke our self to oblivion on the year 2012 then that is our problem. I do not think that the year holds any special power or meaning other than what we allow it to have and the whole concept of 2012 having some inborn power is utterly ridiculous.

I hope this explanation is suitable.

So to put it into simplistic words, I do not believe 2012 is special from any other year.

Years in themselves are just perceptions, ideas, illusions in themselves.

5 separate ancient cultures had no means of communication with each other. all of them predicted 2012 as the end of the world.
